    NOT a stable company

In Cebu (lapu-lapu), more than 400 employees where dismissed the last working day of July 2012 without pay. After a week, lighthouse Software Cebu Inc. informed us that we can come to the office for an advance of 200 peso (4,5 USD only), instead of a full months salary. 200 peso barely covers the cost for transport to the office, this is ridiculous. A complain is filed with DOLE, the Philippines Department of Labor and Employment. The remaining lighthouse employees are only paid a part of their salary. Late payments are ongoing for a year already and escalated since june 2012.
We hear that other offices face the same problems, no health care paid in China for + 300 employees since years, payment delays for up to months in Vietnam, Thailand, ... but the big bosses fly around in a private jet and go to the most exquisite hotels, such as Cebu Hotels | Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and Spa Cebu

I recommend not to work there, you never now when or if you will receive your money.
Some long term employees start to look for another job, or left already.

Dole orders Lighthouse IP Group to pay workers

Mactan Economic Zone (MEZ) 2 locator Lighthouse IP Group owes over 400 former employees P2.7 million in wages and 13th month pay, a Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) 7 official said Tuesday.

Rogen Cumba of DoLE 7 said the department is set to issue this week an order directing the Cebu office of the Netherlands-based intellectual property specialist to pay 480 workers who did not receive their salaries for the period July 11-25 and July 26-31.

Since 430 of the employees ceased working for the company as of August 1, they are also to be given their 13th month pay computed according to the length of time they’ve worked for Lighthouse IP this year, Mr. Cumba, who is the department’s Tri-City Field Office (TCFO) supervisor, added.

Mr. Cumbra revealed that in two meetings last August with company representatives, they explained they were waiting for funds from company headquarters to pay off workers.

Lighthouse IP Group said in its website that it operates in eight countries including the Philippines and offers IP, translation, outsourcing, and software development services, among others.

Mr. Cumba said labor department investigators visited the Lighthouse office in Lapu-Lapu City last August 8 after receiving a complaint emailed by one of the 430 workers whose work contracts ended in July.

According to him, Lighthouse has 10 days from receipt of the labor department’s order to either comply or file a motion for reconsideration.

“Company officials said they are willing to pay, only that they don’t have the money,” he stressed, adding that Lighthouse IP might need to sell off some of its assets so it could pay the wages of its former employees.
