I think you took my opinion about religion being a coping mechanism way too seriously, but in so doing I am enlightened, so thank you for the figures.

But since it is impossible to "exterminate" religion, I still stand by my belief that it religion and intellect can exist harmoniously in a populace, no matter how ideal it may sound (a bit hypocritical, because it doesn't even apply to me).

I agree... religion and intellect can coexist.. and religion can help those who need it.

I just don't like how religion meddles in politics especially if that meddling is blocking important legislature that will make the country more progressive.

Religious leaders can speak out all they want.. but they should do this in their own churches only. What they are doing now is overstepping their bounds and diminishes the voice of the people and the system of representation in government.

Atheists are too busy being scientists, mathematicians, physicists and they find more productive things to do than worship with zeal and devotion. They would prefer to give to charity or do acts of Philanthropy and they find it a waste of time believing in something that has no proof.

But we should point out that in any religion, there are multiple dimensions (political dimension, social dimension, spiritual/moral dimension). We cannot exterminate all the religions simply because their political dimensions are being exploited by people in power (I mean, some priests/pastors/ministers,group leaders, etc...)

Dunay mga relihiyoso nga nag-focus lang sa spiritual dimension. Mao ni sila ang mga tawo nga dili mag-apil2x anang mga rally2x kun sila mismo dili kumbinsido sa tuyo anang maong rally. Mao ni silang mga tawhana nga dili lang basta2x magsupak sa RH bill, ila unang sutaon kun angayan ba mosupak or dili. Kun ilang makita nga mas maayong supportahan ang usa ka bill, mo-suporta sila ana bisan pag ang kasagaran sa mga member sa ilang religion nisupak.

Not necesarily better off... but you have to admit that Majority of scientists, mathematicians, astronomers, etc are atheists. The numbers don't lie.

I am mainly saying that it is possible to be an Atheist and still be a productive member of society. Religious people would claim that people who don't believe in God would go around killing / raping people since they think people who don't believe in God have no morals.

Extermination means suppression and repression which violates our human rights to which I am against.

Maybe in the distant future, the religious beliefs we have today will evolve the same way we think of people who used to worship the sun or believe in Anitos / Mythical gods.


My advise to everyone is not to pre-judge people based on their religion or lack thereof.

Atheists and Theists are both capable of doing good and bad... in the same way.... do not pre-judge people who belong to one religion or another as both are just as capable of doing good and bad.


In the end, what is important is not religion but the person himself. The moment we put our religion or beliefs above our fellow man is when we have committed a travesty towards our being.
