we cant blame the fact that theyre just making sure they will pass.. Nursing is different from other disciplines as of present. Passing this increases your chance of going abroad and recieve salary 5 times the doctor here ....
So if the leakage was really there and you decline it and failed, you cant imagine what you did, sure they have concience but at that situation, its not just about you, its your family, relatives and loved ones... ..its more of a calculated risk from them...

That's not the point. The students have already invested a lot of time, effort and money and should not be made to suffer through no fault of their own. It's not the fault of the students that there was a leakage; the PRC is right to stick to its decision not to have them retake the exam. Moreover, the scores from those two leaked portions of the examination were not included in the computation of the average score anyway.

The concerned agencies are already looking into this matter. Meanwhile, it's our responsibility to protect the reputation of those who passed the exam fair and square. It's outrageous when some Filipinos are even thoughtlessly putting political color on this issue and unscrupulously using it as a propaganda piece against GMA. The opposition and those who sympathize with the opposition must stop this abominable habit of politicizing everything for their own purposes.

If they decide to hold a retake, it shouldnt be optional lang. Dapat tanan nga batch june 2006 kay unfair man pud sa mga muretake if sila lang ang maglisod lisod nya ang uban manigurado na nga pasar na sila.

And also, those who failed last june should be allowed to take again kay from what I heard, gifilter man nila ang test items nga naapil sa leakage. Naa silay items nga giexclude ug count sa total score. So what if katong mga nahagbong, correct diay ilang answers atong questions na wala giapil ug count and what if makapasar diay unta sila if walay giexclude nga items? Wont that make a big difference?

i was just saying that if ever those people who passed the exams get the chance to have a RETAKE again, then that shouldn't be a problem for them to pass the exam for the second time.. about time, effort, and money.. i agree on that.. but that's another issue.. i'm just talking about how they (the examinees) go about the exam the second time around..

Well, it doesn't necessarily mean that if they passed the exam the first time, they'll be able to pass it again. Many factors affect a student's performance in an exam, not just his intelligence or knowledge. I've known instances where one who flunked a board exam the first time ended up as topnotcher upon retaking the exam. Conversely, there is also likelihood that one who did well in the previous exam might not perform as well upon retaking the exam. That is one of the reasons why a retake of the exam is manifestly unfair, an injustice and puts the life and prospects of the students in double jeopardy.

The government should lay down the full force of the law on those responsible for the leakage. It must take all necessary measures to prevent such thing from happening in the future, like stricter regulations for review centers. The political opposition should shut up and let the government do its job.

that's why i said if they'll gonna be able to have a RETAKE again, those who passed the exam has a A VERY BIG chance of passing it again.. not that all of them would necessarily pass the exam.. of course not..

    here's what bothers me:

    1) what if companies (specially those from out of the country) decline a nurse's application if he/she belongs to that 2006 batch?
    2) granting that the 2006 batch didn't retake, what if companies decline a nurses' application even if they are batches 2007 onwards?
    3) what if companies would then prefer to hire nurses from other countries from now on because the 2006 batch didn't retake?

    here's a follow-up question for 2006 examinees:

    1) would you still complain about the suffering you're experiencing either emotional, financial, etc etc and not do a retake even if the statements above are more likely to happen?

    2) or would you go ahead and retake the exam just to clear your name once and for all whatever the consequences may be?

here's my opinion on what the proper goverment/private agencies should do in light of this controversy:

    1) issue a full retake of all exams and shoulder majority of the costs.
    2) prosecute the guilty party to the fullest extent of the law ie members of the BON who had a hand in leaking the exams.
    3) revamping of the PRC's board of directors/members and its system in choosing those people not only in the nursing department but all medical and all other fields as well.

I hate to see it all come to this but sometimes we need a big slap in the face to let us know that we're not doing a good and honest job. hope we learn from this mistake..
