Why can't you people take music as it is... and ignore the B.S. that's tagged on the hem...
Music is music.... don't try to complicate things.
Why pamper life's complexities when the leather runs smooth on the passenger seat?
I agree with Ezra...listen to music for what it is and not for the genre...listen to it because you like...and nevermind the idiots who disagree with you...music is an experience that should be on the personal level...damn...if you like ariel rivera be proud and be loud but don't force it on others...
All these rants about this and that. Blah blah...... blah blah.... Why can't you people just appreciate each other's favorite music?
OT: Which reminds me.. I gotta call you man!!! tingalig magkita ta NOV.4 if naa kay panahon.Originally Posted by aliwas

I find this thread really funny basing on the replies of some people here.
I listen to Dream Theater, LTE, Jordan Rudess, Kevin Moore, Black Light Syndrome and the like . In fact, DT's my favorite band. But having that does not give me a license to diss this sub-sub-sub-sub genre. Emo ain't that bad. I love Thursday. I listen to At The Drive In, The Used, and Glassjaw.
A genre is being created to classify the type of music being created. But that does not change music as a whole.
وليس هناك كعكه ، والكعكه هو كذبة.
I was walking home today and then I saw that someone had erased the words off the community billboard. Those words are dead. Words of real feelings like "need" and "help" and "want", they're all dead. So I grabbed the erasers from the rooms and got an urn. I put all the dead chalk ashes of those words into my little urn. It's full now. All these dead words!
lol. I'm not sure if that's how it went but I got that from someone called Hope and she's supposed to be emo. So uh..yeah.
a lot of people don't get what emo is.
then again a lot of people, especially the younger generation, also don't get what classical is.
I like to think of emo as just a thing about a thing about a thing.
Most people don't care really anyway. Like me.
I had a girl friend (1997) once who slashed her wrist--she was supposed to be emo or goth or just i dunno.
father was a 'tard and her mom wasn't there.
whatever--chickened out last minute.
Didn't even manage to get a gash.
Just some nasty scrapes.
I emptied a small bottle of jack daniels on her wrist.
those were probably the first real tears she'd shed for a while now.
must've been painful that alchohol on her scrapes. sigh. stupid.
oh man. what a waste of jack daniels.
stupid.
emo?
this is the line --------- cross it. i dare you
If someone slashes his or her wrist, I don't call her emo... I call her either suicidal or simply stupid. If she wants to kill him or herself... take a quicker route, less pain, less agony .....

As far as the music goes... I agree with Glassmoon... an genre is there to classify music BUT it doesn't have to dictate your sense of identity. Cause really, that's what it all really is..... IDENTITY.
