hmmm.... these videos doesn't really point out that they are victims of the sport
they are just focusing on specific incidents involving the greyhound breed
a lot of people are reacting to this or will still react to this
but this is already happening in our country/city/barangay
our good old trusted askals are also left to die on the streets

and yet no one seems to care
perhaps we should try to help our askals first

come to think of it does anyone know
what happens to dogs caught by city pound (me i dont know)
    has anyone tried anything?

    just my 2 cents...

PLS READ!!!! All about Greyhound Racing..

Manila – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia is launching a new ad campaign to draw attention to two House bills that would bring greyhound racing to the Philippines. The ad, which features a happy-looking greyhound and bears the tagline “ She Wants to be Loved to Death, Not Run To Death” aims to educate people about the hundreds of dogs who will suffer and die if House Bills 5292 and 5648 – which would permit greyhound racetracks to be built in Cebu, Tarlac, Pampanga and Laguna – are approved.

PETA points out that because of declining attendance, greyhound tracks around the world have closed down their once-active tracks. Greyhound racing is so cruel that is has been banned in 34
U.S. states. When they are not racing or training, racing greyhounds are kept muzzled and confined to cramped cages. Many dogs who are not ”culled” as puppies die prematurely from injuries and illnesses, such as broken legs, heatstroke and heart attacks. Other reported injuries include spontaneous seizures, sudden collapse before or after racing, spinal cord paralysis, severe tails, lacerated eyes, puncture wounds and broken necks.

Most dogs slow down or suffer career-ending injuries by age of 4 or 5 and are either abandoned, killed, or sold to laboratories to be used in experiments. Former racing greyhounds have been found shot, drowned, starved, hanged, electrocuted and clubbed to death. Within the past year, 400 dogs were left to die, with no food or water, at a greyhound track in Guam when it closed because of poor attendance.

PETA is not alone in denouncing this so-called sport. Last month, Sen. Maria Ana “Jamby” Madrigal – with her greyhound Prassad in attendance - called a press conference at the Senate to discuss the cruelty of greyhound racing and to pledge her support in opposing these bills. Sen. Madrigal joins a growing list of notables, including Cebu Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, Sen. Miguel Zubiri and Sen. Noynoy Aquino, in speaking against the bill.

“Greyhound racing is a dying industry – in more ways than one,” says PETA Asia Campaigns Manager Rochelle R. Regodon. “If approved, these bills will doom thousands of greyhounds to miserable existence and violent death. If the industry – or anyone else – says otherwise, they are lying. Greyhound racing is opposed by every animal welfare group in the country and has no place in the Philippines.”

"but this is already happening in our country/city/barangay

this is a very good point sir..our good old trusted askals are also left to die on the streets..in fact, A LOT of askals are roaming the streets right now. do u think having the greyhound racing will help solve that problem? we haven't solved yet one problem, are we going to add another problem by allowing greyhound racing to be legalized? pls do consider that point..and another thing, let's just say greyhounds are not harmed when racing, but isn't it a form of gambling. Poverty is a BIG problem in the country, are we gona add yet another problem?? These are the disadvantages of greyhound racing compared to the advantage of it being a form of entertainment..

kng lingaw ra ato giapas ani, nganu nlng diay kng mangita ta lain lingaw?
