It's good that I bought the Western Digital 1 TB recently. I was surprised nga kinabugnawan cya sa tanan Hard disks nako. (1 seagate 120 gb ide, 1 seagate 120 gb sata1, 1 western digital 500 gb). So I search about this amazing hard disk and found things about it but eventually nasaag ko sa mga articles nga there are problems diay sa seagate. I just remembered that I decided before I bought the WD 1TB that I was going to buy Seagate kay barato gamay ug at least try na pud seagate after so many years of buying Western Digital. Pagdali-dali na ko ug palit ug hard disk kay Western Digital man hinuon ako absent-mindedly and automatically nakuha. I'm glad nakalimot ko sa earlier decision nako to buy seagate. But who knows basin in the long run maayo ra diay ang seagate kung updated na ang mga firmwares, di ba? But as of the moment much concern gyud diay ang recent seagate models. I warned my friend who bought just 2 days ago the 1.5 TB seagate hard disk to check about the reported problems and if his is included with those. Masayang unya ang iya files for the last 10 years or more. Basin ma-affected iya business.

I agree, My MacPro uses Western Digital HD. My mac is cool as ice... also due to aluminum case.

i never took this thread seriously until now...patay na ang akong Seagate 500GB...karon lang gyud...

@ suspect: didto nimo gi-return sa store? or sa Seagate diretso? thanks...

    @ simoko:

Have it RMA'd with the store you bought it from.

So far, my Seagate 500 GB is still running strong after the firmware update.. although there were two instances wherein the hard drive disappeared from Windows. A reboot fixed it, though. I suspect it may either be the SATA port or the SATA cable.

naay daghan discussion sa seagate website nga recoverable ra daw kay ang read/write head nga part raman ang affected - ang platter is okay ra. if i'm not mistaken mao man siguro ni pasabot sa seagate nga recovery nila nga support, since okay ra ang platter, ila rang ilisan ang head sa drive so naa gihapon imong data. problem is, ang kadugayon sa RMA tapos gasto pa sa shipping.

@ poldopunk: 3-4 weeks kuno ingon ang TTI...ila tanan gasto sa shipping kai under warranty pa man...
