BEWARE!!! Ayala management has made it strict na regarding parking, ma car or motor. They have asked their in-house security and coordinated gov't authorities like CITOM to be strict in implementing the regulations and ordinances bsan pa naa sa tugkaran sa ayala.

Sa parking areas, be cautious on where to park your bike. U have to find the areas designated for parking motorcycles. Otherwise, ma tow gyud na...Usually daghan madakpan sa area surrounding Ayala-FGU bldg.

so to all those who think that CITOM ra ang ga istrikto, think again. It is in coordination w/ the Ayala management.

Overnight parking w/o Ayala management's consent is also dili pwede. ma tow pud na.

And before i forget, this also applies to the IT Asiatown Park w/c is also managed by Ayala. Akong miga nadakpan dapit sa THE WALK ky iyaha awto ni park ug ni obstruct kno sa pedestrian walkway. To think pay parking diha dapita but naay portion diay nga dili pwede parkingan.

Anti-people, says solon on city’s towing system

TWO congressmen questioned the vehicle towing policy of the Cebu City Government that has made life difficult for their constituents.

Rep. Antonio V. Cuenco (Cebu City South) yesterday urged motorists’ organizations, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and other aggrieved parties to submit to him a position paper against the city ordinance that allows City Traffic Operations and Management (Citom) to enter into a contract with a private towing firm.

“This towing system is anti-people. This towing idea is subject to the whims and caprices of the City Government and Citom. The motorists are being harassed by a private entity even though they are paying road user’s tax,” Cuenco said.

Cuenco said he will support people who want the towing system stopped.

    Legality

For his part, Rep. Pablo John Garcia (Cebu, 3rd district) said the towing ordinance must be reviewed to determine its legality to contract a private towing firm.

Road Warriors Towing and Motor Services, a towing service contractor for Citom, is reportedly owned by Vicente Go whom Mayor Tomas Osmeña admitted in public as his best friend.

Garcia said that if a motorcycle of a minimum wage earner is towed and he will be obliged to pay the P1,600 penalty, it’s like giving up a six days’ worth of salary.

“It’s really exorbitant. The people can’t help but wonder whether this towing ordinance is really to solve the traffic problem or is just a business venture,” Garcia said.

    Explanation sought

Garcia said the City Government and Citom has the obligation to tell the public who benefited from this towing business, especially that Citom only receive 15 percent share of the penalties.

Garcia said his constituents who came to Cebu were victimized by the towing activities. He described it as unfair because the City Government has failed to provide ample parking area for motorists.

According to Garcia, it’s okay to enforce traffic laws such as no stopping and no parking in busy streets. It is another thing if traffic law enforcement becomes oppressive and has turned into a business undertaking.

Garcia said that if a private business firm is given the authority to tow, it’s possible that they will focus on increasing the number of towed vehicles to increase income rather than disciplining and educating the motorists.

They should stop towing cars and MCs. They should let cars and MCs park wherever they want even if it causes traffic and obstruction.

They should stop apprehending people because we are a democratic country.

kanang last "slot" in between mcdo and mercury drug? di gyud na pwede kay walkway na, wala gud "hump" sa likod.

advice to everyone, park your cars properly, lines/dividers are there for a reason.

aw c'mon people. as if u didn't see thru it. these congressmen gunghos are surely dipping their hands into the affairs of the city. how about informing their "provincial constituents" how strict the city gov't is when it comes to traffic enforcement in the city?

actually, they are indirectly hitting at Tomas. they are questioning his decision-making process. how about Mandaue? they also contracted the towing u know...

as if murag they are not positioning themselves for the 2010 elections. ang cheap nyo naman!

    uyon kaayo ko ani towing.

    basta lapas gani, tow dayon.

overnight parking, dapat tow gyud na.
    illegal parking, dapat tow gyud.

ganahan man kaha ta ug disiplina, naa ba gud disiplina nga mohangyo sa balaod.

Kanang mga awto o motorsiklo o sakyanan nga walay grahe-an, kanang i-park lang daplin sa dalan, angay gyud na nga i-tow.

nag pataka lang pud ni si Cuenco.

unsa gud intawon ng road users tax?
if you park illegally or if you use the road not for its purpose unya nag bayad ka ug road users tax dili na lang ka dakpon?

road user's tax...if illegal use aw road abuser's fine na kana! And it should be on top of road user's tax!
