Good point...if you were to do it "by the book" by virtue of Sola Scriptura to its extreme, no Jew nor Adventist today can ever follow the Sabbath the way they were observed by the ancient Jews before. Adventists strongly argue that it be observed as described in the Bible. But...you don't see these:
1) Animal Sacrifices. In Numbers 28:11-15 defines the special animal sacrifices to be made during Sabbath at the time of each new moon. Some translations refer to these sacrifices as a monthly burnt offering.
2) The Day of Atonement: Leviticus 23:26-32 locates this day on the 10th day of the seventh month. Its purpose was to purify the temple sanctuary.
3) Not a fire is to be lit on a Sabbath. During Moses time, even the work on the tabernacle would cease on the Sabbath. In fact, they were not even to kindle a fire on the Sabbath (Exodus 35:3).
Do you really think (Sabbath-keepers) don't cook any meals on a Saturday? You guess.
4) No business transactions on a Saturday. In the observance of Isaiah 58:13 "If you keep the Sabbath holy, not having your own fun and business on that day..." But if you have been to Miller Sanitarium (adventist hospital), you don't see any cashiers on a Saturday but they charge every single medicine and food you use/eat every single day of your hospitalization including Saturday -- that means business still goes on a Saturday only they collect your bill some other day. Trying to get around the Bible huh?
Hmmm...
