A Canadian company is set to spend at least $23 million for a copper project somewhere in Zamboanga Peninsula. Said project will boost our mining potentials as much as it shows confidence by our foreign counterparts.

Hopefully, more investors will come and join our country.

The United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council, led by the Philippines, has started mapping out schemes to promote and protect the welfare of all migrant workers.

Along with other government ministers, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo joined UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in seeking "a fresh start and de-politicization of the UN’s work in human rights."

Manalo said as member of the UN body, the Philippines has co-sponsored a resolution on the Right to Development and a decision on the effective implementation of the Durban Declaration against racism, racial discrimination, and xenophobia.

^^ Well, it seems the people are very much appreciating the efforts of the president to work towards progress. They have seen now that the president is serious in implementing political and economic reforms within the government.

Even if the president is faced with so much allegations on whatever she does, whether it be for the abolition of the death penalty, visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and other European countries, implementation of RVAT, and so many others, the people still knows that she is working hard for the benefit of the Filipino people.

The peso regained its strength when it reached P51.87. After the president's SONA, it seems the stock market and the peso-dollar exchange rate increased, owing to the fact that the business sector approved what the president presented before the Congress. The business sector was satisfied since the speech focused to a better economy for us.
