ah! pandol man gani ta ug maglakaw ta.. surely the street aint safe... since time immemorial.. hahaha. joke ra bai.
NEVER LOOK VULNERABLE. you know where you're going or where you'll probably end up. pangandam daan as early as the time na mudecide ka on what to wear.
CAPS are a big attraction sa mga kawatan. you got your cap snatched 2008. it goes waaaay back 1997, first time kita ko ug kawat inside the jeep.(kahinumdum ko grade 3 ko ato.)
and ang gtudlo gyud ni mama sa ako. ayaw ihurot ug butang imung money sa pitaka/bag. keep an amount na sigo ra para maka-uli ka (or at least make a phone call) somewhere safe. let's say your other back pocket, socks, or garter sa imu brip (honestly, the last one superbly works!)
if naay suspicious looking tao (sorry sa mga 'inborn' nga ing ana.. heehe) sa jip pero dli nmu tapad, dont take your eyes off him. one time naay nikapyut na siga kaayu ug mata, nya nag-cap ug nag-duko2x... suspicious kaayu ug nawng. ako ra gyud gitutukan. didnt care if i was right or dli, basta i was observing him.
if tapad nmu. be wary of that person, the opposite side nmu, and the guy in front of you. they may be teammates.

But not all kids who rome the streets all day are crooks. There's this kid who sells candies, cigarettes and Nature Spring water around SM. If he's ever around I make it a point to buy a pack of cigarettes or some menthol candy from him. Good kid.

Mao ni reason I stick to wearing plain shorts and shirts when heading to the streets of Cebu...then if I bring more than 200 pesos I make sure I put them in my secret pocket thats inside my belt...better to be safe than sorry, lisod na bya ang kwarta karon...
