wrong interpretation. backsliding is not mention in the verse but rather how man is justified before God. throw Calvin away,it only confuses you and puts you in a very dangerous spot,how? by suggesting a subject that isnt in the verse. this is because you do not understand the doctrine of justification by faith ALONE! and its because probably you have a shifting kind of faith and not genuine. Just consider the example of the thief on the cross...did he do something to make him saved, or was his genuine faith saved him?

Genuine faith will always bear good works as a result of the working of the Holy Spirit in your life and not the product of your own effort...it is an overflow of the grace of God!

It is the living guide of the fundamental human morals. we are taught in it how to behave and act in accordance to what pleases God. other books about spirituality bai was just a derivation from the bible.
