You could try the radeon 5770. It's a bit older but cheaper and has decent performance for the price

But don't do games nowadays perform better the more cores you have?

However, I do agree with the sentiment that upgrading from his Inno3d GT 240 512mb ddr5 to something better is a more beneficial upgrade.

2-3 cores is still a sweet spot for most games....

anyways i am not looking to max out these latest games...ako screen kay up to 1280x1024 ra so i guess buying a GTS 450 would be okay to play the latest games on this resolution? and would my x2 5000+ hold back the GTS 450?
Just did a quick search and found this:
Is AA & Higher Resolutions GPU or CPU Intensive? - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

Food for thought from the link:

Lower resolutions often put more strain on the cpu while higher resolutions on the gpu.

Thats why its sometimes better to play in high resolution if you have a slow cpu.
The amount of VRAM plays the biggest role in AA/AF @ higher resolutions. For example, a GTX295 with 64MB VRAM would suck at 1280x1024 with high AA/AF.
It might actually be a goo idea to read on the concepts of CPU/GPU bottlneck .

Sell processor and vc, add ang halin sa imo 5k budget, then get an Athlon II X3 + GTS 450.

Dako raman gani na ang 5K budget for videocard upgrade.

    1. Sell your Videocard sa Buy and Sell = 2K hehe!

    2. Puno gamay pa jud = 1.5K

    3. Then palit dayon GTX460 1GB = Tagbaw jud ka ana hehe!

For the processor = Makahuwat man na bro. Mas ma feel jud nimo ang videocard upgrade kaysa processor upgrade.
