here are my observation and when it comes to Landscapes I'm a newbie
1st pic - the rock on the left side is kinda distracting its either you clone that out or crop it out your scene.
2nd pic - for me the rocks are not that interesting to complement the background.
3rd pic - +1 on Teemoy's comment.
nindot man para nako tanan pictures gi post...newbie here, i have dslr sony A600,ok ra ni?
mao ni ako shot sa bora

* same as sa mga previous comments above, ayaw kalimot pag straight sa horizon.
1. nice sun rays. u can also try to take a tight shot sa boat in a portrait orientation to clearly indicate a subject in silhouette.
2-3. i would suggest getting a nice foreground to these shots (rocks, sandbar, coconut tree etc...) with the "leading line", leading the eye of the viewer to the subject (boat).
imho ra ni![]()
@tikboyoyoy, i think for the 2-3 there is no way to get a leading line like a sandbar or coconut trees from the shoreline. if you do that gamatoy na ang boats... one way of shooting boats kay either zoom it and get wider and sharp composition a clean and blue scenery. and small part of the ocean ra maipakita kung imo i specify ang boat and more on skies and big boats sa frame.
leading line kay applicable for at least a visible enough subject...not in a small subject na kung imo tagaan ug maayo ug focus ang leading line.
IMHO
note: Im not experienced in landscape/seascape photography pero mao ra sad na akong nakita dha nga composition![]()
cheers!

For me and for me lang jud ha, I don't tend to take photo's of the blue sky filling most of the frame - its just too bland.
Not unless I had a dramatic sky or with great streaking clouds or with vibrant spectrum of light filling those plain blue sky,
then I will let it shine by putting my horizon in the lower thirds.
No leading line ? - Then create one, look for patterns, experiment on different angles, crouch down or lower ur tripod,
get a higher vantage point, put some logs or broken branches and twigs in the path,
and if all else fails - look for another spot and explore the environment.
Gamatoy na ang subject ? - Then focus more on the foreground and not on the plain blue sky or the common fluffy white clouds u see everyday. Put ur horizon in the upper thirds and accentuate the foreground. If maglisud japun, then improvise,
grab the nearest boat u can find and put it along the shore. Grab some rocks and place them in the lower part of ur frame,
change to portrait orientation and take the shot.
Scripted na ang scene? yeah, but u are there to capture the beauty of that place, and trust me, it will be worth the effort.
Dli sad ko pro / experienced kau aning landscape2x but mao jud ni ako nakat.onan kuyog2x ni chipmunk ug waryu. haha

Foregrounds - One element that can set apart your landscape shots.
Think carefully about the foreground and by placing points of interest in them.
Give the viewers a way into the image as well as creating a sense of depth in your shot.
Leading Lines - Gives an image depth, scale and can be a point of interest by creating patterns in your shot.
Can be actual lines or might also be objects, patterns or shapes that create flow from the bottom edge
up into the main part of the frame, drawing the viewer’s eyes into your image.

@tik, take a look at the image
considering the situation ha and the distance...lets say ur right, grab all the rocks, trees, blah blah... crouch, higda, pinahayang.. we are talking sa iyang photos not ours ok? unsa may iyang i deliver nga story... meaning we are looking sa actual situation nya di nato i think or i assume unsay naa sa atong mind. distance? let say naka kuha kag nice rocks or mga blings blings... foreground leading to the boats... tanawa ang boat unsa ka gmay considering sa iyang lens sad ha... lets ask the guy unsay gamit nyang lens... then kung iya kaha i wide? para naay leading lines makita ang sand going to the boat... unsay itsura? im sure naa na siya sa to the nearest shoreline nga makaya..or maybe a meters para lang madool gmay... or i dont know unsay lens again.
so kung palap.don nato lets say 18mm hmmm basin mogamay na.... kinhanglan sad baya ug details sa imong main subjectand then look at the clouds.. nice clouds, relaxing colours.. i think nindot sad na kuhaon kay kung i wide nya mo crouch basin dghan ang dagat noon...
para nako case to case bases ang pgbuhat ug leading linesdili na sya all.season
@pahabol diay hehehehe mo ask nya ko ni waryu unsaon pg gamit anang leading lines kay mgkoyog baya mi leyte hehehe para ma educate sad ko ana.. so far wla pako ka koyog ug landscape addict gyud sa akong mga laag kanang dugay nga bonding hehehe kato naa si chip kadyot ra sad to hehehe so time ni karon sa leyte 2days naa si waryu
