Reminding someone about a violation is not help? Maybe that's exactly the reason why other members just give reminders to other members, because they know how busy you moderators are and don't want to bother you.

splendid moonlight, i mean to say that other members prefer not to report, instead they just reply with a little reminder.

then i added, if the violator would listen to the reminder and keep it in his mind then there is a chance that he will not do it again.

Now some members are like cockroaches, the more you ban them, the more they keep coming back.

Naa gyud uban member nga ing-ana, kasab-an pa gani ka kung imo tagaan infraction.
Kung ma-ban sila, dali raman daw himo bag-o account.
Mga KSP nga way lingaw, thinking that they will become popular here by doing those things. Eventually, they will loose interest kung dili na tagdon sa uban, and rarely visit the site.

I read that the report button is strictly for reporting "spam, advertising messages, and problematic (harassment, fighting, or rude) posts"?

What do we do if we see two threads that are similar? Is it okay to use the report button in this case, so a mod can merge these threads or close one of the threads?

Yes, the report button is applicable to all violations and other requests such as thread title editing.
We even receive reports nga inig open nako ang sulod kay "Pila last price?"
