lol....... only in the Philippines. your joking right?!? athletes have more priority of getting one of the highest ranks in the enlisted world/military rather than soldiers who has fought blood, sweat and tears to earn there strips?

have you ever served in the military sir?!? fame is not measured in the military, well except for the Philippines, it is measured in experience and knowledge of the job you took.

just as i said. there are other people other, than athletes, who deserve the rank that manny is holding right now.

Mga brod, I think the rank given to Pacquiao is titular ra man. It's the same sa knighting done sa UK. I'm pretty sure si Elton JOhn ug si Sean Connery would never get to don full plate armor and joust, pero they're given knightly titles gihapon. So don't worry, Pacquiao is not gonna be commanding his own platoon any time soon. And besides, he may not have taken a single bullet in defense of our nation but he did he take a hundred hard punches for our nation's honor.

First , SGt MAJOR is a rank you dont have to wait for 30 to 35 years .

Second , you can be awarded with a RANK in the military as an honorary rank and just because reservist lang siya , doesnt mean he didnt deserved it . Please dont overact na karong Mayo mo daog si manny ma GENERA na siya .

Third , even in the US MILITARY , civilians can be given a rank and common ni siya sa MEDICAL FIELD .

Reopening the thread , seems a lot of people are interested to talk about MP and his MILITARY RANK . Walay OT lang ha .

This also , in connection with RANKS .... earned because of character , patriotism , love for country could be factors also similar to the highest civilian awards like these :

Orders, decorations, and medals of the Philippines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I know a civilian surgeon who holds the rank of COLONEL . You guys dont know him . Di sya sikat . Di siya boxer . Si MP nuon sikat , boxer mao siya ang na criticized ninyo .
