My mom had taught us how important/valuable an mass intention for a faithful departed.
We learned that instead of offering Thanksgiving mass better to offer the mass for the souls of your loved ones or much, much better to the souls in Purgatory.

Kay benefecial man kaayo if e-generalize kay makahig intawon to mga kalag nga wala na mahinumdumi or walay paryente or in short wala nay nagpakabana.

From this knowledge that I acquired at a young age, I make it a habit every month to have a mass intention for all the Souls in Purgatory. Mind you, we may also become one of those souls?
