It's quite hard to name only one book. The ff. are my top picks for now:

    1. The Source - James A. Michener
        - Historical fiction at its best. One of the most  informative books i've ever read. "The Souce" brings history to life - from
the colorful history of the Jews, the Arab-Israeli conflict, the crusades, the Hebrews, the Spanish inquisition, all the
way to the founding of the present-day Israel.

    2. Degree of Guilt - Richard North Patterson
        - The best legal thriller i've read so far. When it comes to characterization, R.N. Patterson is one of the best.

    3. The Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger
        - No need to explain.
