ang naka nindot sa mac kay dugay maguba. unya dili kaayo mukamang.

bought my powerbook g4 12 inch way back 2005 and it is working in tip-top condition. ilisdanan nalng ug battery kay dili na cya ka lahutay.

i have a 60K pesos nga desktop. gi lupig lagi ang mga specs sa akong powerbook pero wala pa 1 year ni ti-urok dayun. and to think cge ko download ug files sa akong mac unya sa desktop kay photo postprocessing ra.

if you want something for postprocessing sa imong photos bro, get the iMac nalang. 58k naman lang guro ang 21.5 inch nila karun with wireless board and mouse pa.

War, make sure to compare units with the same price tag. The most common mistake people here in this forum do is compare a 50 to 60k Mac to a 25k laptop.

Mga new releases karon na laptops nindot na sad ug mga LCD screens but kadtong mga nindot ug LCD screen na laptop, dili pud barato.

I use both and I say that no one system is better than the other. It's all in the user.

I got the MacBook Pro simply because it helps with my "image" as a professional photographer. Other than that, it's just a PC with Mac OS. If you want a good workstation for Photo Editing, invest on an Eizo monitor, pair it with a good video card, and calibrate it.

War if wala ka naanad gamit ug cute nga monitor ma-disappoint raka buying a 13" macbook for your photo editing needs. With that price instead, makapalit naka ug better spec PC laptop.

Hardcore PC users would always justify their case, it's a given. The same argument between why Android pawns iOS devices, do you believe it?

Calibrated display? Get a real calibration tool. Mac is no where near the right one if you take into account the ambient light in your workspace.

Specs? With 80k (for example) I can get a much more powerful Laptop and a much more powerful desktop packed with 12gigs of RAM and the latest i7 2600k and ATI or Nvidia *** @ 1gb gddr 5 with a superior AOC lcd monitor. I can play crysis 2, while running a quick encode on a short video I took on my last assignment, switching to my lightroom to find out that it has already finished exported, burned the files to DVD and switch back to Crysis 2 game and not feel a slightest lag. Where's mac at?

Viruses? <-- only noob and careless PC users get infected. Plenty of viruses? It's a consequence resulting from the popularity of the windows OS. Why make viruses for an OS used by the lesser few?

Experience <-- very subjective. I meet people who hate Mac too and this is probably where it will mater most for people. some people love the plug n play feel of Mac. Me, I love tinkering around.

Just don't talk about specs because there's just no way a mac can be better than a PC in terms of specs. That's why the best and most graphics, cpu and ram intensive games can only be found in PC.

For the best overall experience in computing, get a PC. The PC can deliver better hi performance for the same amount of money invested.

about your thread title, is the comparison - mac (book) vs any laptop or a pc within the price range of the mac book?
very well said bri.. very well said jud. ur really consistent w/ ur facts and opinions

nka notice lng gud ko nga kasagaran photographer (at least the well-off ones) Mac ang gamit w/c prompted me to ask myself if it's just a fad or a helpful tool in photography.... i am still considering of buying 1 kay dili lng ko ganahn ma sawayan ako pix nga gpang take due to color, contrast etc. that's why nag open ko ani nga thread and basically to get the opinions from Mac users...

nka kita lng ko sa diprencya sa Mac. but, well, my monitor wasn't calibrated man pud.

and i'm really and strongly considering all the thing u said... P75k for a laptop is no joke.

    thanx for the reply bri.

For a long term investment wlay mka lupig sa iOS, ayaw pag tanaw sa hardware specs. iOS vs Windows... im a Microsoft windows user and been a promoter and partnered with microsoft in a development tools before... dghan na ug laptop and desktop akong naagian with windows. for each windows machine with a ordinary user how many times na re-install ang windows? cmon guys its the OS not the machines.

for iOS, for 2-3years pwde raka di mag re-install just leave it there, the performance still the same.

Naa koy lenovo netbook s10-2 pre-installed with windows-7 and very very slow sa 1GB memory but akong gi changed to hackintosh, wow.. fast and stable pwde pako mag open ug dghang windows and browser.

and im using Macbook for my development and photography (konohay) hehehehe and still no change of performance mg 1year kapin nani wla pay re-installation of OS...

kung di ka mo invest ug machine idol you can get a high-end PC then install with iOS kung gnahan ka ug otingkay sa imo machines. but if you want the ready-to-go get the Macbook Pro 15" is ok...or get the Air kay barato nlang ron hehehe

thats the problem, mindset na nga para sa never-ending maintenance sa hardware repair and upgrade hehehehehe

unlike sa MACbook or iMac, calibrated tool is there no more additional calibrated tool to buy. no more expensive monitor to buy.. no more video card to buy.
