usually around 10.1" there are some that are at 12". im talking about the branded ones coz i think china clones have like bigger sizes. i aint sure. they are mainly used for basic processing like office and internet surfing. they're small with longer battery life. i think average is around 5-6 hours. usually used in school and like office work i suppose (but not the programmers and other IT stuff).

notebooks/laptops
(i think this is like the general term for all mobile computers)
notebooks are mobile computers with higher specs that can do much heavier things like games (when i say games i mean like need for speed, and all that), CAD stuff, programming etc. they generally have lower battery life but asus is coming up with all these laptops with like 8 hour battery life.

notebook - has dvdwriter/rom/ drive
netbook - none

notebook - bigger / wider screen / heavier
netbook - small / small screen / lightweight

notebook - faster (can be use in heavy duty purposes) except for p4 processors.
netbook - average (for office purposes only ex. web browsing, office applications, some video streaming.)
