Long, Long time ago... ang mga people sa Bantayan grabe maka observe sa Holy Week celebration...
they attend masses, vigils, ug kung unsa pay mga laing pakulo sa simbahan during Kwaresma.
Tungod kay observant man au sila, dili mangisda ang mga fishermen... labi na jud kung Holy Wed, Maundy Thu, Good Fri, Black Sat ug Easter.
Tungod ana, walai makaon ang mga taw, ug wala pud sila'y ikapakaon sa ila mga bisita.. kay fishing was a major livelihood that time.
So ang gihimo sa parish priest that time kay nagpadala ug letter sa Pope ug nangayo ug exemption na makakaon ug meat during ana na time. Ug niconsider sad ang Pope. mao tung gitagaan ang bantayan ug 'indult' or permission na makakaon ug karne.
So mao na... =)
