If I follow my Calculator, answer is
288

If I follow the manual step I use MDAS

48/2(9+3) - first do something with the numbers in the parenthesis : ADD
48/2(12) - multiplication goes next
48/24 - then divide
2 - answer

following math rules... the answer is 2

process first those in parenthesis: (9+3) = 12
using MDAS: 2(+9+3) = 2(12) = 24
so 48/24 = 2
