Yes, you might be right they just train you to become employees.
But being an employee isn't always a bad thing.
Not taking such a foundation is a great risk.
Sadly, only a lucky few are able to overcome such risk.

If you are young (let's say below 25) and well off (You don't have to be filthy rich)
I think it is not a waste of time to spend them in college.

I would like to warn you that businesses are risky and is always a potential money black hole.
Charities in the Philippines isn't as rewarding as one would think, most of the money supposedly going to these charities end up in politicians' pockets.
Travelling the world is nice if you are rich (Well truly not for the middle-class)
Art is cheap in the Philippines (Law of supply and demand)
The last few statements obviously relies on your talents, which would make it nice to remember that most people are not as talented as one could hope to be.

So, I salute to the lucky few who have overcome the College route, but the not so lucky, go to college and make the most of it!
I do agree with this one... its a big risk labi na with our economy nga murag way clear.. I'm not blaming anyone especially the government kay kita man ang nag control sa atong life and destiny... as Klave said, education is one of the fallback if ever d jud ka swertehon sa business... and that happened to me... I tried to have my own business but wa jud ni obra... so, I used my education to apply... ug nakawork ko.... being an employee is one thing that I can be proud of since I could say I'm a good one...

i totally disagree nga magbusiness nalang instead of going to college specially sa culture kag nature of living sa pilipinas...If European ka or Chinese, pwede pa siguro...pero pinoy? I don't think so...naa mi success na pinoy na la gyud mi agi ug college but kana sila ma ihap lang kag grabi ang ila dedication ug kabudlay para lang maabot ina nga level...today for the new generation, 5% ra siguro ang makahimo ani ug kana katong mga adunahan...how about if ultimo civilian ka lang? unsa nga business imo sudlan para ka maging successful? dili gyud ni advisable diri sa pinas especially sa mga pubre.

if small ra imo capital, how small it is? to be a successful businessman, you should have a capital not lower than 1M. if you have this, then, you can start your business. if not try to work and earn for it. or you can even start your business while working....if moingon ka nga sa deskarte or sa through strategy ra na, you are wrong. having such amount of capital to put up a business in fact it is small enough para maging successful businessman ka...siguro pwede ka mo success but pila pa ka years imo paabuton ug maka ingon ka na successful ako business?

sakto gyud ka na being an employee forever wa gyud na improvement..meaning you are contented to what you have...

by word "work" also includes being an enterpreneur sir. not necessarily plunge their lives to be just employees and retire when their physical health fails down the road...in doing so making others rich with their efforts.
