The Double Standard...still in full effect these days?

Is the double standard still in full enforcement today? this would be the "Do as I SAY, DON'T DO as I DO" philosophy of raising children. What do you have to say about this method of child rearing/raising? Are you still in favor of this Completely or Partially?

mu comment lang ko sir ha.. these days man gud, ang nindot na trend karon kay we let kids explore on what they want to do provided nga na explainan nimo sila bout the pro's and con's..... you're child will learn better with experience.. para mka experience sila ug things like happiness, fulfillment, pain or failure, and etc. these things will make the child's character strong & stable.. but dapat parents and adults close to the child should act as role models, ky dali kaayo na mu sunod ang mga bata esp. between ages 1-7, bisan pa ug imo ng ing-nan ug "DILI"... dghan areas ang ma affect ana niya igka dako niya...

I believe children nowadays are more into democratic type of parents. They want to be heard and be understood. It is not fair to just tell them what they can and cannot do. Even if you are the parent, you must honor their own opinions.

pain and failure are things the child must learn and must also learn to recover from such in order to avoid dwelling on the stigma of the experience. More important, letting them sail according to their whims is quite dangerous no matter the enormous amount of leading by example you show them.

It would be nice if people are able to avoid having Double Standards.
But then principles and aspirations, come in second to needs or necessities.
I would like to say that as much as we would want our children to see that we are living on our words.
We always end up burying ourselves with our mistakes and then throw our pride away just to get out of the rut we put ourselves into.

I believe on practice what you preach...I think DS is more of BS and hypocrity.
