setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in my computer

thanks all sa reply, ako g tan aw ang bios setup detected man ang hard disk ani, i double check na pud sa connectors. 100% sure ko nga na damaged gyud ang HD kay g try nako ug butang sa pc sa ako friend with same mobo pero same ang result, ma detect sa bios pero d na ka detect sa hard disk drive if e setup na.

anyway thanks all sa effort, g practisan pud ni nako ron ang ako unit coz i really want to know sa hardware...basi palang makasugat ko ug solution ani...

hehe ana gyud bro, la naman gud matagad ni tungod sa laptop, nya nakahunahuna ko na pwede pa man d i ni makwartahan like sa piso piso ba..hehe...if d ni maayo palitan ni nako ug 40 gb...

You will have a fully functional Linux Puppy Desktop regardless of your hard drive condition (dili siya mogamit sa imong hard drive) Makita nimo sa Linux Puppy if mountable pa ba imong hard drive or dili na ba jud madetect. Ug madetect pa pwede nimo gamiton ang Gparted aron sa pagsusi/ayo sa mga partitions sa imong hard drive.

Ug dili na jud madetect sa Puppy ang imong hard drive, most probably tigok na jud na siya.

ako nya sulayan imo g suggest..ganiha ako g try tan aw usab ang BIOS setup, wala naman ma detect ang hard disk..

naa sad ko the same problem ana before sir, pero ang ako gibuhat kay ingon sa ako professor sa una guba na ang hdd, akong gi butangan ug magnet sa speaker for about 5 minutes, then gi ibot naku ang CMOS batt tapos pag on naku ug balik gi-check naku sa bios then na detect xa so F10 then save changes tapos naka primary boot man ako CD-ROM kay mag format sad ko sa hdd, after ana kay naka proceed naku sa reformatting procedures, naminaw sad ko sa hdd kung mag head crush ba xa pero wala man...

Hi IPsuite. You mentioned your drive was SATA and that it was detected in the bios. It may just be a driver problem upon installing windows. If you can also tell us what operating system you were installing and your motherboard's model, that would help. Windows XP SP2 can't sometimes detect SATA hard drives due to a lack of storage drivers for some of the newer motherboards. Which is why that error "Setup cannot find any hard disks installed" shows up just after you are about to enter setup. You might want to try using a windows XP installer with SP3. Or you can tinker your bios and find that setting which allows your SATA to run in compatibility or IDE mode. Change it from Enhanced to either Compatibility or IDE mode. Save the settings and try installing again. Hope this helps.
