I don't see this happening soon maybe 8 - 15 years from now

    • basing on Gov't projects, basta Gov't Hinay ug progress, North Reclamation for Example, pila ka years usa pa ni barog ang mga buildings dha, and until now you can't say that NRA is really that developed maski naa pa ang PARKMALL, SM, CDU, etc. dha.

    • Filinvest is a big company but has a bad reputation when it comes to on-time-delivery, even if mahuman ni nilag sayu ang CITA de Mare, kinsay may tao ganahan mo puyo sa lugar nga wlay silingan? and dli pa ingun ana ka develop na place

    • SM may own a big lot there but they are now more focus in North SM rather than the South, why? kung ikay SM mag tokod ba d ay kag Mall sa lugar nga wla pay tao?

SRP is a nice move for CEBU I just hope dli na mapareha sa NRA sa kahinay sa development. I'm pretty sure Cebu City Officials are prepared for Cebu's Growth.

The ironic thing is that Cebu is booming in terms of business but the government has really not done a good job for the welfare of the people. Come to think of it, grabe na ang mga investors nga nisulod sa Cebu yet for more than a decade, ang mga hospitals, school buildings, traffic management, government employee competence, etc. has not changed.

So before these businesses will come in, I'm hoping to see developments and improvements on these sectors.

Yeah, the public sector is dismal. It's private corporations who are doing the progressing. I imagine one day Cebu will just be one enormous mall connected by parking areas.

AFAIK, SM will launch SM SRP this month, the mall and the church will have simultaneous construction and soon to follow are the residential buildings and the convention center. SRP is not just an empty space, look at what happened in ASAP Rocks. The SM SRP mall will be a big people-drawer as it will exude the best of what the SM's can offer. SM are not dumb enough not to have a thorough study on the marketing potential of SM SRP. If I were SM, SRP is the best place to have a mall larger than SM City Cebu. Why? Because it will be dedicated to the customers coming from the southern half of the province and SM City Cebu will be for those in the North. Cebu has a population of 3.7 million and so it means more foot traffic on the malls. SM's project is a promise to the City and so they'll have to deliver it actually but basing on the plans, the GRANDEUR of the mall's architecture and al-fresco areas meant that SM is serious in expanding in SRP. They know the potential.

Sa tinud-anay lang, Ayala and Robinsons land wanted to buy lots in SRP right now and they want no less than 40 hectares each. The City "turned down" their proposals because the government knows that when SM and Filinvest finish establishing themselves will make the value of each parcel of SRP much much bigger. The City Government intends to sell them off when the value of land triples or quadruples 5 years from now so mas daghan og kita ang Ciudad ana.

Citta di Mare is mostly a residential project, intended to compliment SM SRP's commercial development there. Actually, units for the Amalfi Oasis are selling good this time around and they are in fact finishing the first 5 buildings by the end of this year. These companies know the potential of SRP and with the coming of the new BRT transport system in 2013, SRP will be very much accessible to as many Cebuanos. I believe in a good future for Cebu. Ayala's are expanding head to head with SM, Robinsons and Filinvest not to mention the local Cebuano developers who built high rise condominiums in the City.

No company would venture into something if they know it is not a good place and a good time to do so.

There is no traffic in Singapore. What we need is proper planning and timely execution.

lack of infrastructure will cripple the booming progress in Cebu. We need more complex infrastructures in cebu such as 3-way flyovers, 8-lane highways, better apprehension and prosecution of traffic violators INCLUDING PEDESTRIANS, better compensation for all those that will implement said infrastructure development and traffic enforcers
