This is kind of a racist thread. For it to be in any way legitimate surely there should also be a Polite Foreigners thread?

wehehe: maybe racism ni sya gamay kay this can't be avoided man sad gud... people like what TS has posted should go back to their countries. they don't have the right to complain kay dili man ni ilang country. kas-a nagkasakay ko sa isa ka singaporean businessman (from malaysia to hongkong trip). & he gave me his insights on how people should behave in a foreign country. He has high regards on pinoys by the way...hehe.. he said Foreigners should not complain about a country if he is not a citizen in that country. He even said the philippines may have problems but who doesn't anyway? I admire his insights because it just show how disciplined/resposible he was on making comments (bad or good). di parehas sa gipost sa TS nga puti..for sure kadtong tawhana, sa ilang lugar ubos kaayo tog trabaho.niadto ra to sa pinas para makaminus gasto..wahahaah
What exactly is your definition of a foreigner? A tourist, an investor, a retiree or a married man whose family live here? You see in my eyes anyone who has joined a society and contributed to that society in terms of investment, tax payments, creating employment opportunities etc has earned the right to express their opinion.
I know several foreigners who have invested million of dollars here and who between them employee more than two hundred Filipinos. The tax they have paid into the system through real-estate transactions alone is a very substantial figure. Are you telling me that they have no right to air their grievences?
ot: @ reptoid: bai, i am sure you have read the TS's topic diba? the example she gave prompted her to post her "kalagot" sa puti/Foreigners. So can we stick to her thread? but since na mention naman nimo ... example bai if you are a foreigner & you are paying taxes in the country, it doesn't mean citizen naka. it is the price you pay for profitting in that country. (i am not an expert with taxation so maybe someone can elaborate further on this if necessary). can a congressman represent you in congress? in a corrupt society maybe they can even act as your attorney...wehehe
Picture this, you are a foreigner, try to complain in a country like china, or even singapore.. let's see what will happen to a foreigner who complains about his host country. i didn't mention earlier, but kadtong singaporean nga akong kasakay, he told me that a Western journalist was recently sent to jail in SG because of his bad remarks about SG. mao bitaw naay gitawag nga "UNDESIRABLE ALIEN". pwede ka mapadeport sa immigration ana bai.. kita bitaw mga pinoy pag mogawas ta sa nasud, di man ta mag-isog2..mahadlok man ta mapreso (ambot lang sa uban, naa man say uban nga badlongon...in general ra ni ako..weheheh ).
educated people like your friends know the repercussions in doing stupid remarks. they can be deported if they become undesirable (in an ideal situation, kong dili sya mobayad). real life example: a known foreign designer from the south(carcar) was deported due to his bad temper . this was years ago thou, but sources told me that one of the people reported it to the department of immagration. (di nalng nako tas-on..hehe). one more, remember ALEC baldwin making funny comments about pinays? murag OA ra kaayo ang reaction ni Sen. Revilla but they issued that alec baldwin should be marked as an undesirable alien. so, unless they become citizend, then they should have no right of bad mouthing us, just like us if we are in their country. right? Educated people don't do that..wehehe
I am not off-topic Eve, I am addressing the validity of the topic and questioning it's motive. The point is this Eve: if you were in the UK (for example) a thread about rude Filipinos would be considered discriminatory and you even though you were not born in the UK would be protected by law from such prejudice.
I've been reading through this entire thread and I'm a little disappointed, but not surprised. All I can say is thank god for reptoid!! You seem to be one of the few people on here not making general (and often discriminatory) statements about a group of people that often come from such different parts of the world and have very distinct cultures. I find this thread little hurtful.....
First off let me say that I'm from Canada and have been here for the better part of a year travelling through various parts of this country. I lived with Filipino families and made a huge effort to try and learn the language. I didn't just go to Boracay or come to take advantage of the *** industry here. I don't spend my time at SM malls or disco bars. I visit many provincial towns and cities and spent a lot of time going to museums to learn about the distinct cultures and history of the people in this country. I travel by tricycle and jeepney and I shop at local markets and build relationships with local farmers. I always say please and thank you and address people as kuya, ate, and po rather than "hey you!". I have respect for the women I meet here and treat them as such. Like a crazy person, I try to smile at everyone I pass on the street even though only some smile back, and fewer stop me to say hello. I'll stop and chat with anyone and everyone who is willing to listen to me or has something interesting to say. I never turn down an offered meal and have tried to experience as much of the interesting and sometimes bizarre culinary scene in all the regions I've been to (still hate shrimp paste, but I keep trying lol). I'm trying to get involved in grassroots football development in this country to promote the sport for impoverished youth to use as a way to make friends, have fun, get fit and just be kids. I buy clothing at Ukay markets and pass it out to people who need it most, especially when I'm in baguio where it gets cold at night. I always order extra food at the restaurant near my house and drop it in the basket of the one-armed man selling watermelons 14 hours a day trying to feed his family when he's not looking, because he's too proud to accept it. I'll hold a door for a wealthy beautiful woman as often as I'd drop the loose pesos in my pocket into the cup of an elderly poor woman on the street. The money I brought to this country I'm using to start a business, not opening a girlie bar in the city, but to try introduce green initiatives and technology and improve the lives of people in this country.
I know this thread is only directed at the "rudeness" of foreigners, but please remember these people you're so quick to use to paint us all with the same brush aren't rude because they're foreigners....they're just assholes! Most come and find a wife a 1/3 their age or travel to a country where they know no one because nobody can stand them in their own countries either. They would complain about anything, anywhere, no matter where they were or who they were around. Some may genuinely believe that they are superior....but guess what? It's not because of their race, it's because of their money!!
Don't pretend for a second that this country's history of having one of the greatest gaps on the planet between the wealthy and the poor hasn't existed here far longer than most visitors have been here and been widened by the people that live here. I see more indifference, rudeness and class superiority demonstrated by Filipinos towards each other than any other group. My time spent wandering the Shangri-la mall in Manila proved that while many foreigners ate lunch and did their banking there, it was the privileged locals who had 2 or 3 people from the provinces carrying their bags ten paces behind them. They won't look a salesman in the eye while he bends down for the 15th time to slip on another 10,000 peso pair of shoes. They get in their tinted out SUV and have their driver take them back to their massive mansion "protected" from the masses by their gated and guarded communities surrounded by other wealthy and prominent Filipino families.
Now I would never judge ALL Filipinos based on those types of people. I would never make a statement like "Filipinos don't care about each other"....or based on the fact that I've payed a few extra pesos for goods because I'm white that "Filipino people are racist'....or because I've had pickpockets in Manila try to steal my wallet that "Filipinos are thieves and criminals". It works both ways.....
then i admire UK's policy bai.. but sadly, i don't think that we have a law about racism in the philippines. if there was, then can someone here post it please. so we can close this thread( (i guess). in a more modern & richer country like UK, maybe they can afford to make laws like that (they are protecting immigratants since they need them to populate their country too). Also, if naa pana sa ato country nang law nga ingon ana then maybe napriso na ta tong puti nga nag binastos. hehehe.. maybe a law like that work here too, but seldom do we see rude pinoys to a foreigner (colonial mentality perhaps). a thread/Discussions like this will help educate us (Hopefully) on what we should do to a rude foreigner (asian, western, or african). we want them to our country to promote tourism, business, etc.. but for them to be rude to us is a "NO". we also deserve respect (even salesladies/salemen deserves respect IMHO). Now after your post, I now understand your point bai, nice discussion by the way & it is good to know what other country's laws are (in your case, UK..thanks for sharing)..
not rude foreigners but assholes! thanks canadianincebu.![]()
Is'nt there a law that foreigners cannot be disrespectful to Filipinos ?
If they are they can be deported and black listed. ( Even if they are married to a Philippine citizen )
