It is not simply egg tray. It should be made of carton or paper para more effective.
how extensive a renovation are you willing to undergo? Also, unsa diay current walling nimo, door and window?
1. Concrete is an excellent insulator
2. Pay attention to doors, windows and other gaps where the sound may pass
Here are some items that can improve your room's soundproofing
1. Door - use solid door instead of flush door (more mass means its able to isolate the room more. Alternately, if you want to stick with the flush door, have a carpenter rip in open then insert Fiberglass insulation (yellow foamlike material) .. naa ra ni sa mga hardware. What you're looking for is a material that has a high R-factor for insulation
2. Window - replace window with a more soundproof version. There are several suppliers that have double paned glass which allows the air gap between the glass to act as an insulator. Alternately, you can add heavy curtains to the windows from the inside. For the outside of the windows your egg crates, fiberglass insulation, foam insulation or outdoor sunshades to deflect and break up the sound from the outside.
3. Air gaps - close up any air gaps in the room like the space under the door or around the windows. Use silicone sealant on gaps, Seal up air gaps around the aircon with thick foam.
Those proposed egg crates on the wall are more for sound management (reduce echo and feedback) than they are for sound deadening.
Its all about increasing the R-factor and closing up air gaps. Sound will pass through the path of least resistance so you need to improve insulation to Air gaps, Windows, Doors accordingly.
