    Ivybridge 22nm will be the die shrink of the current SB coming out Q4 2011, and it will be 1155 socket. There are rumors that 2011 will initially be launched using 32nm but will also get the die shrink to 22nm (Q1 2012??). So yes, wait for IVY 2011

    So this means intel will be releasing SB-E and Ivy this Q4, doesnt many any market sense. Still rumors but from what I've heard Ivy will only be LGA1356 and LGA2011

    Ivy will not simply be a die shrink, it will be a new architecture since intel adopts the Tick-Tock technology turn around.

    yes SB-E for the 2011 platform (initially) at launch and ivy 22nm Q1 2012. Ivy for 1155 platform in Q4 2011 with bios update on current P67 boards to support it.

    Of course it's no just a simple die shrink, some changes will be:

    * twice the amount of EUs for the graphics sub-system
    * provide DirectX 11 support - as opposed to DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3 for current SB
    * better performance/watt

    for P67, "tick" is SB - "tock" is IVY
    for X79, "tick" is SB-E - "tock" is IVY
    either way, we will get IVY's for both platforms.

    Not quite sure where Z68 will fall into amongst the lot. ??
