If you're planning about taking a 2nd course. It's always a good practice to look at where you are right now (in terms of career) and where do you plan to be in the near future? Always consider your plans for any trainings and your further studies. There's not much use of spending a lot of money on something that you won't be able to use right away.

But here's my recommendations for cross-functional or generalized courses :

Second course should be in line with either what you're doing right now or what are you planning to do in the near future.

Most of us in our first courses, we really don't know what course to take and some of us end up either working or doing things not in line with our degrees. Second courses should further reinforce us and point us to further career advancement.

In my experience, I graduated from an engineering course (Electronics) and I'm currently working as a building management systems engineer, quite related to my course. I also took up several short term courses when I was still a student and most of them are all about computers and networking. Other than my job, I'm also very active in the financial sector. Having and doing business is one of my passions and that made me think to go back to school and probably do commerce or any business or management related courses. Of course, since I also love technology, I want to have career advancement and I'm planning to take up courses relevant to my course (Electronics and IT).

Second courses should be something that is useful and not just for the sake of having a diploma.
