I guess step by step process sad ni. I know success isn't overnight.
me personally is not even good at cooking.hehe.. anyway, ask yourself kung unsa ba nga line of foods are you inclined in. lutong-bahay ba? cakes? bakeshop (bread)?.. then u learn.. u can learn in a lot of ways, first, you can enroll to cooking schools (not quite sure but this might be expensive), second, try dropping by some bookstores, daghan ug cookbooks diha, it helps a lot, really.. my mom learned how to bake cakes by just following the book. then third, you could watch some tv programs. some stations have programs about cooking. fourth, learn from others, your neighbors, your friends, everybody around you.

mas nindot man gud na once you have a business nga ikaw mismo kasabot because [1] the chances nga mailad ka sa imong mga tao is so small, and [2] regarding sa cooking business, if ikaw mismo kabalo moluto, di pud ka magsalig sa imong mga tao, with or without them modagan gihapon imong business.

food business will never run out of style. be imaginative and creative lang.

    hope this helped

now why would you wanna go study how to cook? if you have the financial you can always find a good chef to cook for you. if you want to learn how to cook you can find a lot of things on the internet. if your planning to open a business dont be a slave to your business.

even if your 36 yr old or 50 its doesnt matter. whats a good thing being an etrepreneur is that iit doesnt require you to be this age, school you went to, gender and.......

an entrepreneur works smart! never gives up on his dreams and continue to pursue his goals.
failure is not the end. failure is the best teacher. learn from your mistakes and never give up.

It would be impractical to depend on a hired chef alone. It is not about being a slave to your business but rather it is about knowing your business better. If you do not know how to cook then how will you make your costings to your menu? or even how will create a new menu entry?

One might answer, just leave everything with the chef. Aah, but what if your one and only chef becomes absent or starts demanding an incredibly ridiculous raise? What do you do then? Fire your chef? What then happens to your business for that day or the following days while you wait for a new chef?

A better businessman will first learn the craft before making it into a business.

thats a good point. you can learn how to cook from your chef.
yeah its also true that you got to have knowledge of your business for you to be succesful in that feild.
thats why you gotta have a system. a system on how to cook all your menus, setting up of the place, inventory, employee and etc.
if your going to open a restaurant business, as an entrepreneur what is your job? a chef?
as an entrepreneur you have a big responsobility to manage your business. learn to delegate tasks.

Imagine what impression that will leave your employee? They will start thinking that you opened a business that you do not know about.

Actually, learning from your employee on a business that you were supposed to know in the first place is a BIG mistake. One should not expect that everything will be taught by an employee. Try learning from a different source (not the internet). Enrolling in a cooking class is a better idea.

You might not be the chef but you have a better understanding of the business. In fact, in your business you should be the one who is the most knowledgeable among your staff. Someone that your employees will respect because you have a good grasp on the craft and the business-side of your restaurant. While I agree that delegating tasks is a must, during the early stages of a business however, there are certain things that you will have to do yourself.

On the other hand there are entrepreneurs who are hands-on with their restaurants like Wolfgang Puck, Gene Gonzales and Tsai Ming are but a few successful chefs who are still busy in the kitchen.
