Brad, ive been in davao before for a year... na assign ko didto sa una. I'll give you some tips and comparisons between davao and what you will expect here in cebu.
1. Sa Davao, it is safe nga mag text2x or tawag sa cellphone if naa ka sa jeepney, or mag lakaw2x ka sa downtown... sa Cebu it is a No-No.
2. Sa Davao, most police officers are courteous and active in duty. Sa The Venue, MTS, and even sa San Pedro Church naa jud mga mag duty nga police, even dawn. Sa Cebu, dili kaayo daghan pulis mga dili abusado.
3. Sa Cebu, cool ra kaayo ang mga tao... then mostly mag Cebuano or mag English ang verbal communication. Bihira lang mag tagalog diri. And unlike sa Davao nga common ra ang Bisaya-Tagalog mix, here kay funny siya paminawon.

4. Sa Cebu, mostly pwede mag smoking anywhere kay wala kaayo na strictly implement ang No Smoking ordinance.
5. Barato ra ang jeepney ride diri. Sa davao strict ang drivers sa Fare Matrix per kilometer.
6. If ang Davao City naay Jacks Ridge overlooking sa Davao City, mas nindot ang Tops ug view sa Mandaue City, Lapulapu City, Cebu City and the South.
7. Nindot means wonderful... I remember and Davao dili kaayo mogamit ug word nga nindot, instead gwapo ang word.
8. Most Cebuanos do not know what Kalintura is...
9. As i remember, most restaurants sa Davao kay a little cheaper compared here in Cebu.
And other things that I leave to you to discover our wonderful city.
Welcome! and I hope you will enjoy your stay in Cebu and meet a lot of friends!
By the way, I stayed in Davao near SM, just 5-10 minutes walk. After that, I transferred to Toril. I also enjoyed your Eden Park and Samal island.
