you have to be thankful that our government officials are conceiving plans such as these, that means people's taxes have its direction and uses and not just to be pocketed or leeched.

If that will be the case, I dont think I should be thankful for GMA. My tax? Being poured lavishly on one province alone? What about us who are not in Cebu? Di ba napaka unfair naman yun?

like everybody is saying here..luzon have its share of development already, it's now time that the economic focus is centered on the south.

istoryador, I'm very glad you're not one of the businessmen who came up with the vision of "THE CEBU MASTERPLAN". why? because you'd be the laughing stock of the group. everyone at the table would be looking at you silly, thinking: "it's the 21st century man, what's wrong with you?"

"May pambili ba ang taumbayan sa mga parks, tourist spots at ecozones na yan?"

yes, 'coz in developing parks, ecozones and tourist spots: restaurants, souvenir shops, refreshment parlors and the like would be established near the vicinity. that in turn would result to additional jobs then would mean more money in the pockets of those supposedly "jobless" individuals. that in turn would have the supposedly "jobless" afford the fee of said parks and tourist spots. see the chain of reaction?

    4. International Port and Cruise Ship Terminal

if this vision would materialize, imagine a Cruise Ship (with passengers of a couple thousand) docking overnight: bars, restaurants, health spas, malls and almost every businesses within 3-4 mile radius from the terminal would greatly benefit from the influx of tourists. let's just say 3 Cruise Ships per week, how will it affect Cebu's economy? do the math..

*** Develop future ecozones and IT parks in Cordova

ecozones and IT parks once again would generate more jobs. more money for the people, more chances for them to enjoy themselves at our future tourist spots and parks..

*** Create a converging point for transportation systems

the better access to public transpo, the better the travelling and commuting experience not only for the Cebuanos but local and foreign tourists as well.

*** Interlink Cordova with the North to South LRT via underwater tunnel

this seems far fetched, I agree, but imagine the possibilities if this project materializes..
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

@istoryador... you don't get money by spoonfeeds... you have to work for it... government are not going to give you cash outright without you working for it... thats why government has given you an opportunity to gain some cash to spend. If you are so lazy to work... economy works through earning and spending... not just spending...
so whats wrong with your arguments? ? ?

Mr. Istoryador, go back to Bohol na lang uy!

Btw, all these infrastructure development are neccessary to attract investors and decongest Central Cebu and spread the development into the less developed, northern and sourthern town.

Of course, it also pays if the government improves basic social services by:

    *Constructing more classrooms.
    *Buying more textbooks.
*Improving and constructing more local govt. hospitals.

Not as grandiose but its effect will be better felt by the population. =)

The problem is that is there anything mentioned about a MASTER PLAN for employment or a MASTER PLAN for the relocation of people.

I tell you when this infra plan will be implemented without a corresponding plan to improve the income of ordinary Cebuanos it will bring untold hardships for them. Prices of services, not too mention, cost of living will drastically increase because of this rather haf baked, artificial and superficial development. Hinog sa pilit. You cannot call development by the numebr of malls. Dahil marami ang mga pasyalan at tindahan, develop na? Mali yan!
Ang tanong ngayon mga mare at pare, may lugar ba ang karaniwang mamamayan sa isang napaka bonggacious na project tulad ng Cebu Master Plan.

Do you have a masterplan on your own? It sounds like you have a much better plan than this one. Don't you think the government is already looking at these points? Before you criticize make sure you have a much better master plan on your own then present it herefor scrutiny. The Cebu masterplan has been there for several years under research, its not just something that came out of the blue.

It seems like you have a much better and cleverly crafted development plan that the government advisers and management experts have not been able to come up. Present it here so that we can scrutinize.

^^nah i'm telling u bai, economic masterplan is not on istoryador's dictionary..his only agenda [err..we can call it PASSION] is for PGMA to step down or get ousted. he's doing this since the first time he existed in istorya.net...he may have made a career out of it already =)
