Judge Meinrado Paredes of the Regional Trial Court yesterday ordered police to turn over 15 seized items to the court for safekeeping.

He said they were not covered by the search warrant he earlier issued, which identified a Mitsubishi Pajero with plate number “LHJ-382,” computer cables and other articles as the target of a police search made in the unsolved Feb. 8 abduction and murder of 6-year-old Ellah Joy Pique.

The various items were mentioned in the inventory of the police’s return of the warrant to the court.

In his order, the judge said the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 7 (CIDG-7) may retain the Pajero in its custody. It was described by police as having the plate number “LMJ-382.”

(CEBU DAILY NEWS took a close look at the license plate of the Pajero being kept in Camp Sotero Cabahug and noticed that the letter “M” had been scratched to make it appear as an “H.”)
