protocol for rabies vaccination for dogs in the philippines as dictated by the DOH and DA (as per guidelines of World Health Organization):

puppies vaccinated at 3 months of age. revaccinations are given yearly.

for puppies vaccinated at less than 3 months of age- booster rabies vaccination given at 3 months. yearly revaccinations thereafter.

    >>>>we sometimes get hold of literature that says puppies should be vaccinated at age 6 months or 4 months. these skeds usually refer
to the place of origin of the literature. some countries (like the Philippines) follow different guidelines because of the prevalence of the disease in the country.

    >>>>with regards to maternal immunity, rabies antibodies derived from colostrum of properly vaccinated dam usually drop below protective levels at 3 months. ( levels for other diseases like parvo, distemper, etc can drop below protective level at around 6-8 weeks). if you want to know why there is a difference, just pm me.
