Hi guys I really need your help, I'm posting here my pages that I am pencilling right now. A Graphic Novel which is titled "Dummy and I" written by Devin Hylton. I just want to your opinion, honest critic, violent reactions, or any comments to the pages below, so that I can improve myself from my weaknesses as well as errors in storytelling. Sometimes I'm not contented with the pages until someone tells me there is something wrong and sometimes I am my own worst critic...... by the way the setting of the novel is in the 1940s and it is so hard to find references, good thing I can download movies from torrent

Nice work sa details bai! Ikaw sad ang mu-ink?

Akong only suggestion is that you try varying the faces a little bit. Don't just use facial hair and accessories to differentiate the characters, also use nose shape, mouth shape etc etc

@John di kai ko maayu mo inks john, di sad ko confident mo traditional ink sa ako trabaho, usually mag ink ko digital using a drawing tablet and corel painter or manga studio pro. Lagi noh karon pa ko kabantay na ako mga shape sa nose, mouth ug ang faces kai pare pareha ra hehehe tnx sa advice John, I'll work on it

bai..how did you create the pages?..straight ra after you received the script?..nice nman imong storytelling skills naai variety sa imong shots..i think you should first try and do concept art sa before you do the actual pages..draw the main characters or important characters in different angles make notes on your sketches like how the noses look like..murag model sheet bah..make lots of sketches on the characters make it a point na you can draw them even nag piyong naka. Then create sketches pd sa mga important scenes..draw all of these over and over and over...until you get to absorb everything then diha naka mu diretso sa actual pages..since realistic man ang imohang approach you need to polish and work on your figure drawing...page 15 panel one tan-awa ang guy na nag lean sa bed..yes it shows nga nag lean sya pero can you see gesture na nag lean sya can you feel the stress sa nagtukod na arm?..since realistic man gd..dapat realistic pd ang gestures..you can practice that by going to the malls or coffeeshop and draw people..wiris2x lang sa gd..but focus on the gestures..

murag mao ra nai kulang sa imoha bai..storytelling, blocking sa characters wa nai problema top notch na kaayo..ang pag draw nlang ang kulang..kai sa akoa pd..mao jd nai akoang gkalisdan sad..akoang characters murag mga manikin na gi manipulate into different positions pero wlai weight ang mga gestures nag sandig or nag stand in one leg pero walai stress nga makita sa lawas..download ug Dynamic Anatomy ni Burne Hogarth ay..hasta iyang Drapery na book pd..mao ra jd na bai..always be mindful sa mga gestures sa imong characters if nag lean ipa feel sad sa audience nga nag lean jd ang character dli lang gipakita nmo nga nag lean sya..i hope nakatabang ko..gamay.

tnx bai sa comment really appreciated it... anyways sa imo questions, paghatag sa script sa writer I did some concept sketches sa characters and some turnarounds, ang problem is di na kaayu nako ma awat ang ako gi pang buhat na characters hehehe especially some likeness na sa mga real na tao, and I'm still practicing on that. nya create dyn ko different thumbnails from the script, any possible angles para ang flow sa story dali ra cya masabtan, after sa thumbs ako ipa approve sa writer, then after nya ma apporbahan e-layout nako sa Sketchbook pro ang thumbnails and do some enhances on Photoshop para sa mga perspective grids, then the finished layouts/rough sketch will be converted to blue lines then print it on paper. Then ayha na dayun ko mag pencils. Then after mahuman ug pencils ako i scan then remove the blue lines in Photoshop.

Mao sad na ako nabantayan sa ako mga tao, stiff ra kaayu ang uban, I'm still practicing on it pero sometimes kung ako na ibutang sa panel mura man ko ug ga ka constraint tungod sa panels, ga lisud na nuon ko kung naa nay panels, maybe cguro sa sunod di na ko mo draw ug panels hehehehe anyways ga basa2 nako ug Burne Hogarths na books ug kang Andrew Loomis na books pud pero kinahanglan gyud practisan para gyud ma tatak sa utok hehehe as everytime I draw naa man sad ko ma learn that's what I like about this job everyday is a school day hehehe, tnx sa comments kay lisud kung walay mo critic sa imu work kai di ta ka improve
