Personally I dont know if its the lack of support from ATI/nVidia but this thing is independent and should not rely on either companies to put out a product, if it does work as advertised they should just go with mobo manufacturers for this... Im also waiting to see for a demo with the latest cards on this ( GTX5xx and 69xx )

Articles and lucidlogix themselves stated that they do need Nvidia and AMDs support. Remember that the do not manufacture the cards but only create the software/algorithm for multi-gpu scaling. To do that, they do need the support of both gpu manufacturers particularly in the drivers department. Regarding the mobo comment, they are in partnership with MSI which is why the latter is the first mobo company to release a hydra capable motherboard albeit a premature performing hyrda board.

Well if they need support from nvidia and ati then the whole point of the multi-GPU with a hardware controller is down the drain for me they are supposed to be the magical middlemen that allows better multi gpu scaling on the same or different cards. Good luck to them.

How they presented it a few years back is that the their multi-GPU solution scaling is low level hardware and SLI/X-Fire is just driver level.

any 3rd Party provider will always need the architectural basis of the product they're trying to support in order to provide the desired output. After they get what they need, on a foundation level, they would be able to progress form there without much micromanagement from the OEM. Until then we can expect development to be sluggish.

If ATI/nVidia didnt support them for the past 4-5yrs so something must be up.. If the tech is as good as they promise, Nvidia should pick this one up to boost SLI scaling.

^^ not necessarily. Remember: why does nvidia purposely disable PhysX when using an ATI card? There were multiple articles when nvidia accidentally enabled this feature in one of their Beta drivers. It proved without a shadow of a doubt that PhysX with nvidia cards work with no problems at all. In fact, the PhysX hybrid benchmarks proved that it worked better than than the pure Nvidia solution (pre GTX 5XX cards). Why? because they want PhysX to remain a Nvidia product. Why are they not fully supporting hydra? I would imagine because of the same reason - they want multi-gpu technology to remain proprietary to each GPU manufacturer.
