You are wrong about telling Muslim that we only have one God. Muslim doesnt believe in that. They believe that there should only be one religion in the world and that is Muslim and they have the real God which is Allah. They dont respect any other religion except Muslim. Thats why their purpose in the world is to kill all people who are not Muslim.

And catholics should really defend their faith. However, sana all religious affiliations whatever religion a person has, will just respect everyone. There's only one God. It doesn't really matter kung unsa imong religion so long as you respect everyone else's beliefs and remember that the most important thing is that you personally grow in your faith.

enough of the evil penetration in the vatican, it has happened before during the dark ages and renaissance, what with the murderous popes and the corrupt borgias, etc.

i do feel sorry for the pope though, he seems quite distressed in the italian channels. for an intellectual theologian like him, he should've known better that it was televised even if it was entirely an academic speech. he could also have been inclusive that "christianity and islam were spread by the sword..." but semantics indicate that the subject was about islam in its entirety. the pope is not entirely infallible.

now the problem is that WHAT islam is he talking about? there are plenty. unlike the catholic church which has a supreme leader, who was he (the pope) implying? of course it is but natural for islamic fundamentalists (and even moderates) to react. it seemed that it implied to the whole islamic spectrum.

should he apologize? yes, for offending those who misunderstood and took it literally. no, for those muslim intellectuals who understood and took it as an academic text, not as a catholic statement.

now how did some of the muslims react? well, reactionaries then fire-bombed churches in the west bank. what a stupid way to prove pope dickie wrong. stupid. stupid. stupid. and to all of you reactionary muslim fundies, if you can't handle a cartoon, how can you handle a democracy?

the pope's point was (for christians and muslims) do not ignore history, learn from it.

i don't think small thing.. we in't muslims that is why we don't understand theie sentiments.. on the other hand, the pope was just stating somethng he thought is true.. most of he terrorists nowadays use JIHAD for spreading mayhem among civilians and creating fear to the people.. kay nag holy war kuno sila.. pero murag dili man tingali na mao ang true essence sa JIHAd the way Mohammed or Allah wants it to be.. muslim is a religion of peace.. but not all muslims live to that name.. pareha ra jud sa mha christians.. we are people who follow the works of Christ, pero we are not living to what we are taught..

what i'm implying is that, our religions today are evolving.. the muslims' faith is also evelving like our faith.. dili nato sila mapugos kung unsa angay nila buhaton.. coz they are fanatics of their own faith.. bisan unsaon ang mga muslims die hard kaayo sa ila religion and they believe a hundred percent to the people who lead them.. kay para nila gasa na ilahang mga pangulo gikan ni Allah..we have to respect them..bisan unsa pa sila ka violent..

Many non muslim have a great respect for that religion in fact its very peaceful in its true form nature but the problem are more and more of the fundamentalist and radicals ones are gaining ground in its internal struggle, and there is no central figure or head that could guide it towards it's true form the ayatollahs for shias for the sunnis any imams and for other sect a religios scholar or head of tribes men will act as their imams.

From observations of today you can see the radicalization the path seems more towards hate and more hatred, intolerance and violence , a self-destruction. More like the time when the NAZI party is exploting the silent majority of germany who just like any normal civilization can live with the jews, instead the NAZI party sucessfully silence the majority and thru violence and propaganda( exploting the ill feelings of defeated germany in the 1914-1918 worldwar 1) manage to create a demagogue in mass rally day and night(candle parade) people will cry and be so agitated.

In the case of the radicals and fundamentals clerics exploting and taking advantage of the palestine and israel conflict and other world events and sucessfully interpreting the JIHAD subject in a false manner...etccc..

Unless the silent majority make a stand violence and hatred will consume them.

no, i think it's you who are wrong. your statement, is that your opinion or your educated guess? is that their (muslims) real purpose? do you really know islam? by the sound of it, your statement is as intolerant as the fundies. you can't just label them as bloodthirsty theo-CRAZY people, collectively.

and they call god allah, as it is yahweh/jehovah in jewish, as it is aba in old aramaic, how do you call your god? it's only a matter of naming convention.
