It was promised to be the best of the Spiderman Trilogy.

This is also intended to be the last, unless a writer will be able to come up with something great for a script. This will like X Men: The Last Stand. It was also promised to be the last unless some writers could come up with something worth bringing the whole school back.

In Spiderman 3, we will meet other characters but I'm not sure how huge their role is. Characters like Venom and Mysterio. It is a given, and I hope I'm not wrong, that the Green Goblin will make a comeback via the lunatic's son and Peter's best friend coz it was the end teaser of Spiderman 2.
