HI GUYS!

I used to collect stamps and coins about 10yrs ago. Karun bag-o lang nako nakit-an ako collection. I wanna continue collecting. Please let me know beh if naa mo scheduled na mga trade meetings para ka-apil pud ta. Mag sort sa ko sa akong mga stamps also.

Would you suggest a photo album to be a good place for my stamps? kana gung covered tana ug plastic na ipilit nimo sa sulod. feel nako protected ang stamps pero hadlok ko what if the adhesive sa album will ruin it or the plastic itself mo tapot ang stamp ma papas unya ang print.

Actually, medyo ni-lay low ko kay nabuang ko'g mushroom culture. Nya medyo mahal na pud ang mga stamp albums sa bookstores. Na phase-out naman god tong klase sa album nga akong napalit. Nya, na-phase out pud tong filler sa stamp album nga tag-P10 sa National Bookstore. Ang nahibilin, kadtong para sa album nga tag-P700. Kapait! Buslot man sad akong bulsa ani nga hobby.

But stamps are still comming to me. Im still collecting them. The last one i got was a Darna stamp, usa ra jud! Maayo nalang kay naa jud koy Darna stamp

oist! jack! welcome back! hehehe... mushroom culture napud imo gikabuangan? wow... unsa na sya nga klaseng mushroom? edible? speaking of albums, murag naglisod naman ta ug pangita ani kay wala naman kaayo nagcarry ang mga bookstores (i dunno kung available ba ni sa kanang mga ginagmay e.g. visayan educational) pero i am thinking (together with my club president) nga mocreate mi ug Philippine Philatelic Forum as i mentioned above where we can share insights, sell stuffs and things like that, only thing is right now wala pay progress, wala pa ko contact sa club pres namo kung unsa na(for sure busy to sa trabaho niya as a call boy[call center ha? heheheh] )

speaking of albums and to those who are looking for one, pwede man ka mohimo by yourself lang, all you need is plastics the size of your stamps or bigger (e.g kung 2x3 ang size sa stamp, pwede ana 3x4 nga plastic unya dili kadtong para sa ice water. i think mga .002 ang gibagan ato), a binder or clearbook, some cartolina, bond paper, clear tapes, and your ready to make one... ang hago lang ani kay either tagsa tagsaon nimo ug putos unya i mount nimo sa bond paper(for displays, as what our club pres say " pang exhibit na") OR using the cartolina and the plastic maghimo ka like what d stamp album is made. daghan man diskarte, hago lang...

on the darna stamp, i bought 2 man tingale to sa post office, hehehe, usa ra man kadesign, i think there's more pero wala na ang post office here in cebu... nahurot na daw sa manila ug hakot sa mga wholesalers... (DANG!@)

on stamp EB, pwede ta magorganise ani kita kita lang mga istoryans. LET's DO IT! give some suggestions like where when and how many times(i think once a month will suffice, or once in two, three months, depende ra sa magsabot... :mrgreen: ) i know some of us guys her are busy, so sabot sabot lang ta.

bro, pwede maka palit ug stamps sa post office? bisan wala ta letter ipa dala? kanang collection purposes lang...

pwede ta makapalit ug stamps didto sa post office... there are two types ang mapalit nimo... kanang philatelic ug generic (wala ko sure sa mga terms... ako lang imbento... hehehe)

ang generic mapalit na nimo diha dapit sa may counter nga duol sa tigkuhaan sa package mail... near the "canteen" or "snack bar" ba to ang tawag ato... ang philatelic stamps (for collection, e.g first day covers, souvenir sheets etc.) tua didto sa 2nd floor kang mrs. yap (i think. i forgot) altough i went there a few months ago, wala na kaayo mga philatelic stamps ang available... PERO... im trying to send a mail to the postmaster general and try to ask him if i can buy by the bulk direct in manila (i heard that most of the philatelic stamps wala ra ma abtan ug pila ka adlaw ipanghakot dayon sa mga buyers didto sa manila, plus the fact that gamay ra kaayo ang girelease unlike before nga by the millions ang printing. karon a few hundred thousands nalang) i can sell them at the regular price or mahal gamay depende sa hatag sa manila(of course plus freight and handling IF there is) a way of helping the collectors here sa cebu. if im not mistaken, murag parente namo ang postmaster gen. kung siya gyud to, mas maayo ang storya... hehehe

^^ ako interested sad ko stamps EB pero sa december pa man ko naa sa cebu puhon....ang ako ron gi kalingawan kay christmas stamps....hapit na ko ka puno ug usa ka album all about christmas stamps!

dont worry gwyn, if i have the time ill organise a Stamp EB for the group here, if ever, pwede nato every month ta magEB. of course mag agad pud ko sa inyo here. one the location or venue, i think ayala center cebu is nice unless naa moy lain suggestions. also im still looking for some time para magorganise sa ako stamps ug tigumon ang mga doubles nako....

leeron, before you mount your stamps sa photo album( i think your refering here kanang magnetic photo album) YOU MUST>>>>

PUTOS it in a plastic (the one i suggest sa ibabao, tagsa tagsaon GYUD NIMO ug putos... as in one by one!) if you dont magmahay gyud ka sa uwahi kay mangapilit gyud na ug dili na cya matangtang unless imo ihumol ang album

If your planning to store it, be sure nga dili maigo sa sunlight, flourescent light, UV light whatsoever kay mofade ang colors.. and naay hangin ang lugar ug dili kaayo humid.


last note...... its nice that more and more are interested in this almost dying hobby (almost dying na because of the internet age, wala na kaayo mogamit ug snail mail, unless of course katong mga wala pay internet nga lugar, and the release sa mga stamps nianam ug kagamay, meaning very rare na kaayo ni cya) and to those who think nga dako na kaayo ang imo gasto sa hobby (think about it, there are others nga mas magastos... heheheh), think of the thrill and the satisfaction you get when you have one on your collection....

ayaw sa ug huna huna makakwarta ka ani kay dugay dugay pa... hehehe you must have those rare ones before ka makakwarta or kanang mga lisod pangitaon... hehehe.. think about it first... try to check the cdo post office naa ba sila stock... pwede man ka ask sa counter kun unsa naa.

@angelo937 ...bro sige be...anha lang ko order nimo christmas stamps sa philippines ....para sa december puhon ready na....willing ra man ko mo pay bro bisan ginansyahan nimo gamay for the freight, and hago and time pa diay nimo....naa man gud ko christmas stamps na daghan na...nya its a pity wala ko sa pinas!

for sure mo apil jud ko sa EB kon naa ko sa cebu!

I like both. Pero i prefer Foreign, kay ubay-ubay na pod ni akong Pinoy stamps.

@ Sir Angelo: I've already tried making my own stamp album. I used PE .002 plastic, and old board calendars; some adhesive tape and glue. Nya, gi-binder lang nako. Maayo baya unta. Pero, mangahulog man kung matuwad ang album. Dili man god magnetic ang plastic nga akong nagamit.
...so karon, gahan-ok lang sa usa ka box ang akong mga stamps(aside from those in albums already. Some in envelops pa.

Anyway, bisag wala pa koy additional album, im not giving up my collection!

...now, i would be sorting out my doubles for the to-be-scheduled stamp EB...
