Yup they are related in some aspect because you can't manufacture a product without developing a prototype, manufacturing is the outcome of what has been researched and developed.Originally Posted by Sanosuke
Before a product is made a team of engineers are assembled as core developers subdivided into several group (predevelopment, development, postdevelopment) but most of this engineers are either member of the predevelopment group(conceptualization) and so with the postdevelopment(prototype stress testing, mechanical packaging designs and the like). These team are responsible for the research and development for that product, from design (firmware, hardware, software, mechanical, pcb and etc.) to the actual implementation. Design is usually done from scratch but most of the RnD facility I knew aside from semiconductor RnDs uses reverse engineering techniques to cut down time constraints of the development (as the period of development is proportional to the cost of investment). But of course development model might differ from company to company , it all boils down to the product the facility is developing (consumer electronics, semiconductor, software). There is a level from which you can call a company/facility a RnD in nature. NCR Cebu is not purely an RnD facility they are partly an Engineering Support Organization (the right description "Engineering Arm" (which is responsible for testing the codes/circuit designs, task are mandates given by Atlanta to cebu) "conceptualization/design is finished so all they do is to code or assemble) however there are some groups in NCR Cebu which are truly RnD, but to see the larger picture NCR-Cebu is not purely RnD contrary to what Miggy Bird is been saying (the exact word that came from his mouth bashing "NCR a pure blooded RnD compare to Lear" awsomely bul...t)... =)
Or naay nasipyat pagsabot sa akong komento
Balik ta sa topic...
That's fine bro, it is always good to share knowledge... =)
Miggy Bird.... Is this the Migs from USC?
if yes, anybody here under Migs when he was still teaching at USC?
Heheh yup Miggy bird that is....
It is very obvious why people left NCR and the main reason is "Politics". When you hear people saying it is because of low salary, it is actually the result of personal outburst that somehow the least "favorable thing" that would drag him/her back to work is by geting paid well.
Politics is in any situation, it happens when two or more people are assembled. It’s just natural. I don't know if you would agree with me that programmers have very sharp senses of justice or the "in-justice" in the workplace. Personally that is what I like about programming it is plain and simple, code either works, or it doesn’t. And it is futile to argue whether a bug exists, since you can test the code and find out. In the programming world is said to be a very fair in a strict meritocracy where you can win any argument simply by being right.
So if a programmer grumbles about politics, it means exactly any situation in which personal considerations outweigh technical considerations.
Bitaws, sagdi lang bay, daghan pa btaw mas nindot nga company than Lear or NCR or any other RnD companies, including Lexmark... at least we gain experience....
kato c Hilarion Lim nga out of 50 students kay lima ra ang makapasar? I hardly know that guy, ni retire naman cia during my middle college years. If EE ka nya makapasar ka sa iya subjects, imo nalang kilawon ang Board Exam...Originally Posted by cloudkyle
