And ang text ni ELY na "graduate" na daw cya kay isa sa pinaka sikat na quote sa manila katng time nag ni quit c Ely. i thought daghan ang Eheads fans dri dapat kbaw mo ani.. hehehehe

Ang tanan nga songs sa Electromagneticpop album, si ely ang ga suwat. Almost all the hits nila was written by ely. It was on the third album that raymund and the others insisted to write some songs too (kay wala man C lay nakuha nga royalties) . But the truth is, the real songwriter nila was only Ely. That is the main reason for the success of the E heads, the songwriting.
I'll give you guys a story about them.
We were both BMG artists, kami duo, sila banda, ely at that time was working as a copywriter for BMG and everytime ad2 mi sa BMG office, magstorya gyud mi ni ely and he would ask me pointers sa guitar playing.
Anyway, as a fellow songwriter, I was already enthralled sa iyang mga songs because they spoke of everyday life and not glamorized in any way, but showed the actual emotions that people felt and told with a humorous personal banter.
At that time, their album was starting to hit, we were auditioning band members for our own session band, because previously, we were using session bands that were the "variety" type and not a real rock band to play our mostly rock songs. After the auditions, two of the players auditioning, Mon legaspi and perf de castro went with us to kalye, to watch some bands. My partner told us about a conversation he had with a guy from Colgate and that Colgate had just gotten Side A band for their promotions. He had asked them why they didn't get the Eheads, and the guys' answer was that the Eheads were going to be a flash-in-the -pan hit only and they were lousy players. At this point Mon commented that "at least we played in tune as compared to... ". There was an underlying sentiment that the Eheads didn't really deserved to hit.
Although the few times we played alongside the Eheads in various BMG Artist concerts , they were indeed "slightly" out of tune, I never fail to point out that no matter how badly these guys will play, people will still come to see them because of their songs, and if they keep on writing those great songs, playing them, their playing can only get better and more and more people will go watch them perform the songs. That is the legacy of Eheads, their songs. And who is their songwriter?

In Any band you always get to point out who is the major talent that carries the band. Eddie Van Halen for Van Halen. Bon Jovi AND Ritchie SAmbora for BonJovi. Eddie for Pearl Jam, Kurt Cobain for Nirvana, Flea for RHCP, Dimebag for Pantera etc. etc.. The major talent of the Eheads was in the songwriting. Other bands during their time had better players, better guitarists, better bassist, better drummers, but they only had 2 or 3 real hits and did not have the songs that transcended the band.

The songs are very important.
For example, we all know how so much better Urban Dub is than other bands like say... cueshe (hehehe) but who is the bigger hit?

Or rivermaya was so much better playing-wise than Eheads, but the Eheads were the reason that the music industry made the platinum album an album that sold 100,000 copies instead of the original 40,000 copies. Gary V triple-platinum on his what? 4th or 5th album? Eheads 3+ platinum album on their first album.
When its about the Eheads, its all about their songs.
