A dream camera indeed brambram. The body is built like a tank and quite heavy. Metering is very accurate and with 8fps it can rip through your 36exp film in 3 secs! One thing that irked me was the rubber skin which started to peel/expand after a few years of use. Unfortunately I've sold it a few years ago para mag upgrade ug DSLR . Wished I kept it.

Any film camera in the world will do even the very old ones. Nikon F90X is a great camera that will produce the same quality as to a Nikon F100, F5 or F6. Always put in mind that to get great images from film, you will need great lenses, professional film, professional lab.. and of course, the eye for composition. If you can get the F100 then good for you if not, the F90X will do just as an F100 would.

You could have the F5 rubber grip fixed for a reasonable cost. Hope you will get your hands with a film camera again soon!

that's really the problem with nikon's rubber grips. my former boss' f5 had it, my dad's old d2h had it, my friend's f100 had it. my dad was kuripot so he just cut the rubber and put it back with contact cement.

@ian, were you the same ian at the fps forum before?
