do it yourself, go and stop depending on others knowledge. searh for it.
and just because i mentioned an information that's been known for decades, it does not necessarily mean "sweto ko sa philippine history".
and tell me, what is the difference between a soldier and a dictator?
honestly i can't find any reason why it is important to define the two.
and please, try to have a level of maturity in your statement, if you want to gather respect.

There's no questions, one of the Brilliant President so far was Marcos. hek, he's even a top bar notcher.

His first term was so great base on some books I've read, he made 17,000 classroom in 2 years term compared to Macapagal, the only problem was Marcos went greedy and he wanted to lead for the third time, which is not possible because of the 1935 Constitution, because Imelda was not that Popular. When threaten, Marcos again tried to Manipulate the voting and went for ConAss and tried making from US Type of Government to a British Parliament. bottomline that what makes him not to qualified to be buried in LNB, he tarnished the good record he made.

The qualities characteristic of a hero, as courage, bravery, fortitude, unselfishness, etc.; the display of such qualities.

You don't have to be sorry to say that I don't have respect for the greatest thief in the world.
Respect is earned not to be begged.
Marcos was a brilliant lawyer and politician, no question about it, but he blew it bigtime.
He had his chance to lead our country into becoming an economic power but he fell short. GREED and POWER corrupted him.

No fake medals for FM...... he is a good soldier during his time..
    classic fail! a confused statement.
Are you saying that he had a good heart at the beginning but was influenced by imelda and power?
well, that still makes him a a bad president.
A person's life is different from a mathematical equation where you can cancel on both sides.
But there is something similar: Repentance.
Did marcos and family showed remorse and repentance?

brod bogschess: The reason why this issue brought up again is, Angelu Reyes was buried in Libingan Ng Mga Bayani. Now, try to check this out posted by Azinic, analyze and then tell me whats on your mind?

    Libingan Ng Mga Bayani

The Libingan Ng Mga Bayani is under the administration and maintenance of the Grave Service Unit (GSU), a unit of the Philippine Army Support, Armed Forces of the Philippines. The mission of the GSU is to provide grave services to deceased military personnel who died in line of duty or were honorably discharged, Filipino veterans, former presidents, government dignitaries, statesmen and national artists. Aside from maintaining the LNMB and the military grave site at Manila North Cemetery, the unit is also capable of providing mortuarial and memorial services to authorized personnel.

og kana ato basehan, duha ang qualification ni Marcos para malubong sa LNMB..
asa dapit ka Reyes nga qualification

bro nightzlayer, thanks for your comments.

i believe that we have properly laid out of opinions na, it is for the others to decide which opinion should be given more weight.

para dli pud ma OT, ako i.summarize ako opinion.

a soldier risks his life for the freedom of his beloved country
a dictator risks others people's lives to hold on to HIS beloved country

a soldier CAN be buried in the LNMB
a dictator WILL NEVER be buried in the LNMB

but then again, the qualifications never mentioned of a dictator. it mentions of Filipino veterans and former presidents among others... it is my understanding that when the " former presidents" qualification was added, it was taken in the context that " public office is a public trust".

so from there we can see that bro taga_ipil has a valid point, that is, that the LNMB qualifications must be amended.

now the dilemma is this, FM is both former veteran and president.

if you were to present this matter to a tribunal, the former president qualification can be attacked. the tribunal will just say, ah yes, FM was a former president, by that alone he qualifies, BUT WAIT, he violated the public trust reposed to him by the people, he reneged of his sworn duty, history has shown that! so from that, he cannot be buried in LNMB. then you proceed with the Filipino veteran qualification. ah yes, FM served in the war, whether or not he was given a medal( allegedly FAKE), it doesnt matter, he served his country. During the time the Phils needed its people to defend her liberty, FM was there, he made good his sworn duty. history has shown that!

two qualifications, one infallible, the other weak, both recognized and discussed in our nation's history. whatever the decision of the current administration is upon the matter, it will also be historic!

..as for my own opinion..Reyes and Marcos should not be in Libingan ng mga bayani and so as Gloria!!..

..but i guess, this should not be a national issue..poverty is slowly killing most of Filipinos, how about those dead Filipinos who can't afford of any burial services and cemetery..where should they be buried?!
