Banks make a lot of money via spreads. Banks take in money from the public through deposits, ie, current, savings or time deposit. Example, ang time deposit is paying about 2 to 3% p.a. and the banks turns around and lend the funds at lending rates of 9 or 10pa.

The banks can also make more money via consumer loans, ie, appliance loans, car loans, etc. which are at about 12 to 14% pa.

Mas grabe pa kong credit card loans. It can go up to 30% pa.

That is why I go for business investments rather than keeping them in the bank.

Look for good partners for good business projects if you can not go it alone.

Sometimes, capital is not all. Partnership is good for synergy in business.

Mutual fund is not a bank. You can invest it through broker like IMG.
