microsoft retail licenses do not expire.

oem licences die when the machine it's installed on can no longer be repaired.
an oem license is encoded with the motherboard, cpu, and other hardware
when it's installed on a machine. that's why it will no longer work if it's installed
on a machine it doesn't recognize.

if it's an oem license you might be able to find the product key on the bottom
of the old computer.

as for updates... I've had my netbook running win 7 ultimate set for recommended
and critical updates only. everything has been smooth for more than a year. and
those updates even help the performance of the system.

anyway, if ever an update does mess up your system you get free tech
support from microsoft.

Thanks sa inyo mga idea....now i know what happen to my pc..... unsa di ai nahitabo ani... i tried to repair my pc using the os then after ako grestart i turns blank and only ang cursor ra amo makita?what happen??

no offense,Linux nlang so you can use your pc writng,music or videos,networkng or simple editng progms will do just fine.
