My dream vacation is madagascar. I don't know if any Filipino has ever been there. That makes it very exotic for us. But this island nation off the coast of southern africa has a very unique history. It was first peopled by migrants from what is now indonesia and malaysia, perhaps more than five hundred years ago. They braved the vast Indian Ocean in search for new land (There are also people of malay stock in Sri Lanka). In other words, people like us who belong to a small racial group, the Malayo-Polynesians. Most of the population today are descendants of these pioneers; black africans are just a minority. It is very interesting to meet people from faraway lands who came from the same racial background. Does this sound interesting or am I boring you?

SOCEVANS .... chances are naa .... PINOY pa !! Ive encountered FIlipino cab drivers in Eritrea and FIlipino workers of Tuna cannery in Seychelles ... these too are places you wont expect to see some kababayan much more on probably some people who havent heard of these African countries .
