i second Ryuugi's statement as i am an owner of a Samsung phone prior to this model (Samsung Wave).
im not just a typical user of smartphones and i am confident enough to say that m100s and i9000 is very much closely the same.

Software difference as what was discussed by Ryuugi, it is merely on the "regionalization" of the firmwares Samsung has implemented. i have carefully studied Samsung's FW for their new smartphones and this has been the prevalent causes of difference (firmwares are regionalized). Security purposes is also part of the company's reason. Hardware specs wise... its just the same.. On other models of Samsung smartphones, the "CUSTOM" firmware (as what they call it but for me it is still "OFFICIAL" firmware. it is just from a different region) works even better with the phones released here in Philippines. that i can prove myself based on my own experience and research..

In addition, Samsung m110s is build only for KOREA. That's why it has a different firmware from other regions.
