I think before year end we'll all see the outcome of both the libel case and the expulsion raps against Cayetano.

but as far as dreaming goes: "FGs secret bank account. Should impeachment case be reopened on this ground?"

^^ the topic says it all... now tell me who's dreaming??

it's more or less a case of sleep walking.. errr maybe wishful thinking...
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!

Let Big Mike do the guessing. Rep. Cayetano have every right not to divulge the evidences until a formal investigation opens.
Pre-empt my foot. Cayetano is in danger of being suspended/expelled from Congress, or worse, imprisoned. And you're still trying to use pre-emption as an excuse! Try harder.

No, Cayetano is not exactly overflowing with evidence. He admitted as much to the plenary, even trying to use the lack of evidence to convince his colleagues to conduct another useless investigation. He brought pictures of a German bank and he expects Congress to do his homework for him.

Medyo atat na atat ang kabilang kampo na alamin kung ano man ang hawak na ebidenysa ni Cayetano. TAKOT BA SILA

Your definition of hearsay is still subject to interpretation. May document na nakuha tapos eh hearsay? Ano ba yan?
Was the supposed document signed or even written on letterhead paper, or any other indications that it was genuine? No! Anyone can type a lot of hogwash on Microsoft and poor guillible you would believe him as long as it's against the Arroyos.

It should be recalled that Rep. Cayetano DID NOT mentioned any name as the owner of the supposed account. Eh bakit medyo naging balat sibuyas si TABA No name, no defamation. SO wheres the basis for libel? or for expulsion.
Uhuh? Cayetano accused the Arroyo family. By mentioning the Arroyo family alone, Cayetano is necessarily mentioning ALL members of that family. Any one member of that family has therefore the legal standing to sue. Moreso Mike because he is the head of the family. You really have to try harder, genius.

With regard to the House Committee on Ethics, there is a rule that once there is a case pending before other courts or tribunal, the committee will not take action on the complaint until a final judgment is rendered on a prior case. Kaput!

Kaya yung pinangarap nyong expulsion, kalimutan nyo na yun. Panaginip lang yun.
Errr, hindi civil case and nasa Committee. That's an administrative case, which can proceed independently and separately from the criminal case. The Committee can choose to recommend sanctions, and Congress can implement such sanctions on Cayetano, whether or not he is found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of libel.

Masyadong confused ang law mo, aral ka muna mabuti hane?

Whether its a civil, criminal, or administrative case, the same is covered by the prohibition. What Big Mike did is what we call in legal paralance as "forum shopping."

He filed a civil damages for libel, then a criminal case for libel, then a case before the House ethics committee, then the latest, a cse for disbarment before the IBP.

Ano ba yan? Pinakyaw lahat ng kaso. This is no longer about redeeming one's name ( if Big Mike really does have one to protect). Its about harassment and vindictiveness.

Pati mga Tulfo brothers binanatan din ni Big Mike. At pati inquirer hindi sinasanto.

Well, Erap antagonized the inquirer. Look at what happened to him. Big Mike is inviting more trouble for his wife with his braggadocio.

Bishop calls on FG, GMA to bare accounts abroad

    By Marie A. Surbano

    09/09/2006

A bishop-critic of the Arroyo government yesterday urged the President and her spouse, First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo to bare their other assets and deposits in bank accounts abroad, saying the real issue is not proving that the presidential family has a secret bank account in the German HypoVereinsbank in Munich, Germany, but whether the Arroyos have other accounts and assets stashed away in other countries.

Novaliches Bishop Antonio Tobias, a senior member of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, stressed that “the place (Germany) is not the issue here. What is important and that is needed to be proven is whether they (Arroyos) have other hidden bank accounts in Switzerland and in Brunei.”

The critical bishop called on the presidential couple to bare their assets here and abroad.

Mrs. Arroyo, as a vice-presidential candidate in 1998, was found to own several large buildings in the United States, which she did not declare. Also, it was discovered that the Arroyos had several undeclared foundations and bank accounts, some of which were in the name of Jose Pidal.

Tobias, one of the staunch critics of the Arroyo government, in defending Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano pointed out that the congressman may have erred in naming the place where the account was secretly deposited, but stressed that it is the duty of the presidential family to publicly declare if they do have other hidden wealth that has been deposited abroad.

“I cannot say that it is they (First family) who have secret bank deposits but I think the country needs that and is expecting that they declare their assets because that is demanded by their position,” the prelate said during the weekly Bishops-peoples forum held at the St. Peter’s parish Church in Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City.

Similarly, Tobias intimated that even the father of President Arroyo, the late President Diosdado Macapagal became very wealthy when he was President.

Macapagal, who styled himself as a poor boy from Lubao Pampanga, was living in his home in posh Forbes Park.

Moreover, Bishop Tobias said the move of the First Gentleman to formally demand the expulsion of Cayetano from the House of the Representative is a wrong move as the presidential spouse has not fully been transparent in declaring his, and his wife’s true assets to the public.

Assuming that there was no secret account in Germany but they have accounts and assets in other countries, they have no right to demand the expulsion of Cayetano,” the prelate added.

Holding the highest position in the country, President Arroyo and the rest of the first family are not spared from this issue. In fact, they should be “transparent” in all their transactions, the bishop stressed.

    dm cebu and kamikaze...

basically both of you got a point that all politicians, from the highest magistrate down to the lowest official in this government should be transparent. However, it is only fitting that it should start with the first family because in my opinion the president should set an example. I could still remember GMA's past SONAs wherein she would wage an all out war against graft and corruption in the government through better public accountability. Then if that's the case she including FG should open its accounts for public scrutiny. After all corollary to their being public official is to make thier lives open for public consumption.

I get your point, I am not an ANTI nor a PRO, what I want is for our weaking country to prosper, but THESE peoples motive are only for themselves and not for the good of the country. Our economy is slowly rising, even the business sector can feel that our economy is developing, heck even the dollar is almost barging in at 49 pesos, but with this antics by some people, they will again discourage investors and all and that will again bring us to square one.

They always say what they want is the TRUTH, but they should first look at themselves honestly in the mirror if what they are doing is for the good of the country and not for the good of their political ambition
