Perfect question. I keep on applying for a certain company here in Cebu. I finally knew the reason why they won't hire me 'cause I asked someone to ask why they won't hire me again (I worked with them before, for a month until I was hospitalized. then with the usual call center, they will drop you from training if you incur a certain number of absences).. the thing is, when they terminated my employment, they gave me an assurance that they will accept me back after I gave birth. So, of course I applied months after... and when i tell them that i worked for them previously, they tell me "we'll call you right back. we'll just check if you're eligible to reapply, etc etc. and they never call back. so anyway i asked one of their employees to check and that's when i found out that they're not hiring me because of attendance issues. I'm like, huh?! so anyway, i gave up on them. but i still call every now and then to check if their system has improved. you know to check if someone actually calls me back to inform me why I can't get hired. and up to now it's still the same thing. never changes.
so, TS, to answer your question yES, applicants should have a right to know what is going on.

My take on this issue: WE SHOULD BE GIVEN THE RIGHT TO ASK. It shows man sd nga seryoso ka sa imong pagpangapply kay ang uban raba apply2x lang.

My partner has been looking for a job for ages now pero wa jud siya ndawat. It is very tempting to ask jud ug ngano para sad maka-improve siya sa iyang lowlights bah then magamit nig apply sa laing prospective employers bah...

well i think its okey to ask..
i think they would also answer your queries..
kay sa ako btaw nga friend, wala xa nadawat gitawagan man xa nga wala xa nadawat while ako nadawat and gi ask niya gitubag man sad xa why wala xa nadawat..

it's not that you passed the interview or not. in an interview, there is not such thing as pass or fail. it's not a test. it's basically just to know you personally. they're looking for the qualities and character sa interviewees. so the right word is "FIT"

ask yourself if you fit to what they need as employee.

if i interview, the last thing i wanna say is. If we decide to hire you, we will call you. If not, "you may not hear from us".

So we don't say that nahagbong xa tungod sa unsa or unsa. but the person isn't fit to work for us for whatever reasons. Be it because of personality issues, salary issues, background issues, or even the skills aren't the set of skills we were looking for. or anything at all.

just try lang ug ask y..theres no harm in trying...if dili ka madawat kay depende ra na sa nag interview nimo..naa byay uban interviewer na hilason..dili nila ka dawaton kay di ka nila feel..ana ra jud na..

sir, if i ask myself, the obvious answer is yes. i would not have applied had i thought that i would not fit the position i applied for.

and i agree with you that the interview is not a test. IT is more than a test for an interview reveals more about the job applicant.

why i had initial positive impressions on this particular incident?

because the interview went as far as salary negotiations.. terms of the job offer.. perks and benefits.. even talk on higher position as the job applied was supervisory.

but all these are just talk now ..here at this thread.

i am past over that experience.

next tym, i will make sure i will ask the reasons why i am rejected.

i get an answer or not, i believe it is my right to ask. i am already rejected anyway.
