I certainly agreed with your insights bro. It must have been the system that ates him. Look at our current leaders now can we see a bright tomorrow? Expect more of his kind.

Now if you just keep an open mind, and also stick to the text of the article, it's plain to see that no matter what charges are filed against him, in his OWN MIND, he just wanted an honorable exit out of the situation. Some of you might ask "Eh if seppuku iyang gusto buhaton, gnanong pusil man iyang gigamit? Well think for a moment--if he actually committed REAL seppuku eh baka pagtawanan lang siya ng mga tao, kasi ba't naman nya gagawin yon eh hindi naman siya Japanese...so he decided to do it in a method that would still inflict a mortal wound, yet still "appear" to be an honorable military-esque death, at least in his mind.

In the military mind, Seppuku is a personal thing. It's an option that one can choose. Nobody chooses seppuku for you--it's either you want to do it, or not.

lol.... so want us to believe that he still died with honor. Its sucide. ITs cowardly because he could have done a better service to the state he sworn to protect by staying alive and telling the truth. There is no honor in reyes' death only a coward will leave the truth in the dark. His death maybe poetic but nonetheless if its indeed suicide cowardly still.

unlike in a seppuku it will not bar the state to confiscate ill gotten wealth, now can you say the same here? Because there is no way that 5O M will ever be returned to the state coffers.

I don't give a rat's a** about his honor or even care about what ANY of you here believe in--I just wanted to explain what seppuku is vis-à-vis what happened, yet you guys seem bent on insisting that I was TRYING to make it look honorable by suggesting that seppuku is only "reserved" towards honorable people. I give up--it's like talking to a brick wall.

actually you implied it that way.

To those who think an act of suicide after being shamed, is "a coward's way out", you must have not heard of Seppuku.
while franzeno point out seppuku in the light of not falling into enemy's hand. and i pointed out seppuku as a punishment.

like i said there are therefore two concept of seppuku.
